I just made a small donation, I wish I could do more... I don't know where else to say this so I'll post it here.
As a "slightly Experienced" linux user, I have to say that Puppy really is incredible.
All I wanted to do was to breathe a little life in to my old EEPC 4G Surf and I got all that I need and more from Puppy.
1) I got my 1 windows program that I need running fairly quickly with Wine and wine tricks
2) I can use my HTC touch with a USB tether as a modem, this was very difficult to do and still incomplete with the easypeasy that is installed on my hard drive
3) I surprisingly got an Axestel CDMA phone modem connected with relative ease with no additional drivers needed. This took me hours to do on my windows 7 machine and was a major pain to do...
I realize this is all old tech stuff, and no, I'm not living in a cave, but I am right down the street from one.....
Thank You Barry And everyone Else Who Supports Puppy!

Yes I have promised myself many times that I should do it too.
I hope others consider it too. Puppy is very unique. one of it's kind.
I've tested some 75 or more Linux now on the DistroWatch list
and Puppy is outstanding in a pleasing way. Love the forum.

dont feel bad about small donations, if alot of ppl donate $1 then thats alot of $1 coins that can be cashed in for a few $100 notes.

THANKS, BARRY Subject description: A big THANKS for our great friend, Barry Kauler. |
|
(Sorry for the bad english.)
Barry your a big man, and also a big heart, thanks for everything.
I am a happy Puppy Linux user, a very happy one.
Puppy Linux helps me a lot. I use it at work, and my boss can't believe or imagine how powerful it is. It is very impressive. I developed a simple script that uses dd and ntfsclone for cloning machines here at work, and it is of course twice faster than any other propietary application. This was a positive point for me. The script is nothing, the ability of the OS for booting from a simple USB faster than anything is ALL. Also I installed to Puppy the ClamAV and developed a simple script for the everyday use. Awesome. I can scan (with an updated antivirus) any infected machine, and repair it, in minutes, from a pendrive.
Puppy Linux means money for me. I earn money with it. We MUST to donate. Honestly I'm not doing it right now, because I'm poor, in a poor country, but I got this good job I have today, in part, thank to Puppy Linux, and I want (and I'll do it), to donate in the near future (really!)
By the moment, a big big THANKS from my heart, to you, Barry. God bless you always.

Is there a way to make it easier for US users to donate?
I have followed Puppy since the early days and started running
it regularly at about 3.0. I don't use paypal.
Cheers

I am a total noob when it comes to sending money.
I asked Barry and one person that know him and
they gave links to a pay pal button to push?
If you go here http://puppylinux.com/download/
then look down below the green paragraph
then you see
Optional! Make
a donation to
Barry Kauler:
Make a Donation
and clicking on that one
take you to Paypal or
Visa Mastercard way of doing it.
Being a noob I asked a Nerd/Geek former work mate
to help me send a test some to Barry so I hope it came through.
I will ask for the details later so I can give these detail to Barry.
If it came through I will send much more money because Puppy
is a big part of my life. 24/7 365 years after year so Barry should
get my donation as soon I get confirmation then the money really reach him.

Although this is for the EVE Web Edition,
which is now free of charge at the moment,
Barry's secondary link is below.
Barry had problems with some donations of late.
Generous people were sending him overseas cheques,
but he was still in outback Penjori.....
and it was too hard to cxash them.
If you were overseas, I would try and go to a bank that
keeps Aussie dollars.
Send BK $5...$10....whatever....
in a letter with a piece of thick paper wrapped around it.
::::::::
http://www.goosee.com/evewe/register/pay.htm
ALTERNATIVE: PAY BY "SNAIL MAIL
" US$10 (or 10 Euros) paper note cash in an envelope
and post to
Barry Kauler,
P.O. Box 359, Perenjori,
WA 6620,
Australia
(include your email address, so that I can respond with details on
how to get EVE Web Edition).
(Paper note please - coins are more likely to be intercepted
in the mail.
Other currencies, money/postal orders,
checks/cheques NOT acceptable.
Australian $10 note is accepted)
"""""""""""
" Foreign money orders
Over the years I have received 2 or 3 US Postal Money Orders,
as donations.
Recently I received one for 20 dollars from someone who has
identified themselves only as
"Puppy Lover, California, 90250 USA".
However, I cannot redeem these.
I think also the previous one did not have identification of the
donor, so I ended up just throwing them away. "

Chris I trust in your good intentions here.
But if Barry just a few days ago send me a PM
that I can use Paypal and the url that I gave above your post
then why should I not trust he knows that it works for him.
Sending physical money is frowned upon by authorities?
AFAIK they don't want us to do such. Sure I can ask my Bank
if they have other customers using them sending AUDollars
to a bank close to where he live? But that would force Barry
to take a trip tehre and the Gas for the car would cost as much
as that I send to him Not so friendly at all.
Electronic money that he can pay with when he buy stuff
is better.

Guys, my PO Box at Perenjori still works, mail gets forwarded, however the forwarding will expire soon (end December 2012 I think).
Anyway, I don't need any money in the mail!

May I ask a tech thing re Paypal?
If I send using them can I mark it
so you know that it is Nooby?
Alternative is that I send an odd sum.
say 27 AUD and then write you and tell
when it got sent because later I want to send
Many more if I know these money really reach you.
197AUD or something odd sum to show it is me.
I don't have paypal so it is a former work mate
that promised to help me but he is rather busy
so he has still not done it. Maybe I should try
to find another the local Priest or somebody trusty

A note about PayPal...
I use it often, where ever possible to avoid using my credit card online.
Regarding identifying yourself, a PayPal payment has a comments field, so the person receiving the payment can see anything you wish to be known, such as your Forum name.

When you click on the donation button at
http://puppylinux.com/download/
you can send money even if you don't use paypal, you only need to have one of those credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are shown there as of today).
