upcoming release
Hi Jemimah, Will the upcoming beta4.1 have the save file corruption fixed? (then I'll switch over to it, else I'll wait) Furthermore, will hibernation work from /dev/sdb1 (internal SDCARD accessible via USBFLASH)? Please let me know if I need to test something. Kind Regards and always appreciating ...

Evergrowing savefile
Hi All, Due to the fact that I (and many others) have savefiles that are in use for a very long time and probably have been upgraded several times, these savefiles become more full over time. This is likely due to the fact that they might contain copies of files that in fact are also available in ...

hibernation
Hi Jemimah, Please note that my /dev/sdb1 actually is the 32GB SDCARD in my 701 (is accessed via USBFLASH) The reason I hibernate to that drive is because my 701 was upgraded to 2G of RAM; hence I need 2G of swap space for hibernation which I find difficult to free up on /dev/sda because that ...

Hibernation from /dev/sdb2
Hi Jemimah, I'm running Beta 4 right now. Pretty fast booting and running in general. One thing though, how can I get hibernation working from /dev/sdb2 (USBFLASH)? It seems that suspending to /dev/sdb2 swap partition (4GB) is working OK, but resuming from it not because puppy always boots up ...

Here's a dosbox pet. But you also need SDL (in case you do not already have it) Let me know if you have difficulties finding SDL pets (there are plenty) Note that I successfully run Sensible World Of Soccer 96/97, PC edition including commentary under Dosbox on my eee 701 (See www.sensiblesoccer.de ...

streamripper
Hi all,
quick question.
I have not installed pupradio yet (so I might be wrong)
But why don't you use streamripper to rip internet audio streams?
I use it to rip sometimes as much as 5 streams at the same time, it is very convenient
and doesn't miss a byte.

dosbox 073
Hi Sc0ttman,
Just played a couple of hours with Puppeee Arcade.
(mostly doom )
Also noticed you have an old dosbox(0.71).
There's a newer one (slightly faster) 0.73.
I'll try to attach it.

Hi Jemimah, just installed beta3-3 and found the following things: First off all shutdown on lid closure has indeed been fixed, thank you for that one!! Since I am using your puppeee on a daily basis, this is very much appreciated!! 1) boot's up normal and then screen darkens a lot which is ...

small change to shutdown
Hi Jemimah I was wondering if you could make a small (I hope) change to the shutdown script so that it ignores lid closure, I'll explain why. Usually when I shut down the eee pc, I'm used to initiating the shutdown, immediately closing the lid and pack it in my bag and go. Needless to say that I ...

Hibernate
Hi Jemimah, First of all, thank you for your tremendous effort here! Your puppy gives me the best eee experience I ever had!! Have you ever considered hibernation for the eeepc's rather than ram-suspend? I know hibernation is working on some flavours of ubuntu and was wondering whether my 701 could ...

Wifi working again with beta7!!
Hi, Just a short positive feedback. WIFI is working again with Beta7. (asus eee 701; 4G) I had to remove my savefile in order for the pwireless2 tray applet to appear. Then after clean (pfix=ram) reboot I configured my network, created a new savefile and since then it connects automatically upon ...

beta 6 wifi working via 'connect'
Guys,
got beta 6 now working by
- disabling wpa_gui by hand
- connecting via the connect button on the desktop
But now I have to do this manually everytime I reboot.
How can I disable the non working wpa_gui?
Or better still how can I fix it?
Regards,
Zicozico

wifi not ok in beta 6
Hi, I'm having a EEE 701 netbook. The one with the ath5K I believe. Wifi was nicely working with beta 4 and beta 5 but absolutely not anymore with beta 6!! Note that I use the applet in the taskbar to enable it. I do not use the 'connect' icon as this didn't work anyhow. Any ideas? Can you in the ...

Some problems on EEE701
Hi Guys,
Just installed this puppeee on my asus 701 4g.
In general, this is the best puppy experience so far.
Though sound is notworking (even after alsaconf) and this might be related to the volum of the speaker in the tray always being set to low (mute?)
any other ideas?
