Since you didn't provide the name of the driver, I'll have to assume the wizard was loading the wrong one. A quick web search shows that your internal Ralink adapter needs the rt2500pci driver, found in the Puppy wizard. Turn off all encryption on your router to eliminate a major source of troubles ...

A quick web search shows your LENOVO Ideapad Y430 laptop has an Intel WiFi Link 5100AGN wireless card. A quick search of the Puppy Linux forums found four posts for the same card. Here's one of them, with possible solutions from Tempestuous, who is Puppy's wifi guru on the forums: http://www.murga ...

Thanks Aitch. The lists are very easy to maintain. The devices in each category are arranged by the date they were posted in the forum. That tends to move newer devices, and devices tested with newer versions of Puppy to the end of the lists. That also makes it very easy to add items to the lists ...

I can't follow your entire post, but for others to assist you, more information is needed. There are some very knowledgeable people who offer assistance in this forum, but they get tired of asking for full details. Generally, the following information should be posted, if known: - Which version of ...

Please Report wifi cards or USB Devices THAT WORK with Puppy
After installation questions, wireless connectivity problems seem to be the biggest obstacle for new Puppy users. But, you can help! If you have a wireless card or USB device that you've confirmed works in Puppy, please post the relevant information in this thread, or in the sticky thread at the top ...

Those few claiming success with your card (or its cousin) under other Linux distros did so through fairly involved configuration changes - with one possible exception. Someone posted to an Ubuntu forum claiming they got your card to work using an open source wireless Linux driver that can be found ...

I have tried to get the ndiswrapper to work with it and nothing tried a few things even the auto-load but that did not work... not that i had much expectation that it would! Without more specifics, it's difficult for anyone to offer assistance. Aside from Ndiswrapper, what are the other things you ...

I'm no expert but since nobody else has responded, I'll jump in. Try ndiswrapper. The following applies to v.4.2, and I'm assuming still applies to v. 5.xx. First, make sure the downloaded wireless drivers are for XP , not Vista. Next, since the drivers are embedded in an executable file, you need ...

prit1 & raffy - I've simply pointed out the obvious. Puppy's content pages are 'broken'. As an open-source project, I know that new volunteers are always welcome, and needed. But I don't see that asking for new volunteers to add additional content to an already broken system where content is not ...

J_Rey - Thank you for your thoughtful and reasoned response. However, it seems to me that you have avoided addressing my comments and have simply explained the status quo. I already knew there were multiple sources of news, with individual articles reported in one or more locations. That's why I ...

Well, for the sake of this thread, let's only address an English version. Sure, news is different, changes focus, and has differing levels of importance to differing groups. But that doesn't mean news can't be centralized. I'm suggesting that all news be centered on one page so it's easy to find ...

Thanks Lobster, but in my opinion the last thing the Puppy community needs is yet one more page of links and/or partial news. The point of my post was - there are already too many 'News' sources, without there being ONE location where news and updates on official releases can be found. The best I ...
