Yes, I can confirm that these key combinations do work on my system. So the problem is either with Alsaplayer or somehow with Puppy itself. Unless there are more combos this is not the most useful list of options I can think of. Playing around...Alt+z restarts the song at the beginning. So does Alt ...

Okay, I fired up an Alsaplayer playlist. I tried every combination of keys I can think of with the letter C which is underlined as "Clear" (to clear the playlist) but nothing has any effect. The tab key doesn't do anything either. That's why I wondered if I need to try to reconfigure the system if ...

Keyboard question
This may be a dumb question but I still haven't been able to figure it out. On every file requester in Puppy certain options have an underscored letter. I'm not in Puppy now but I'll make up something so you know what I mean: a Close button might have the letter C underlined. Now, I would assume ...

Changing default list order in Alsaplayer
I am using Puppy 4.21 on a Fujitsu laptop mostly to act as an mp3 server for various stereos in the house. Part of this involves setting things up so that other family members can use everything easily. The OS itself is no problem. I'm using Alsaplayer as the mp3 plaer (I just prefer it to the ...

I don't seem to have anything named gdmap except four files which seem to be icon-related. There's certainly no gdmap in any of my menus. I have a Frugal installation; could that be why? I finally found the old Firefox cache and deleted it, which freed up a dozen megs or so. I set my SeaMonky cache ...

Re: Suggestions...
The pup_save file behaves strangely, at times. Mine often grows although I've added no packages, and I don't know how to prune it back. Can anyone explain this? Ditto. I'm a new user and I am having a hard time figuring out this one too. I am not an experienced linux user; the only feedback I feel ...

My USB modem started working last night and I have NO idea why. I didn't do anything except uplug the old one I had been using and plug the non-working one in and reboot, something I have done several times already. I didn't have to mess with anythng at all, the machine just rebooted and connected ...

Puppy space slowly filling with unknown stuff
I have my Puppy 4.21 running nicely; connected to the net, playing my mp3s, browsing, etc. All is well! But can someone explain how I can figure out which files are unnecessary? My Puppy Space amount keeps getting smaller; I know some of this is cache files and I clear my browser files regularly ...

TP-Link TL-WN322G not working in 4.21
I got a TP-Link TL-WN322G USB modem because of some info in another thread that said with the proper pet driver it would work with Puppy but I can't get the browser to connect although the config process goes fine and tells me I have an internet connection. I installed the zd1211rw-TPLink-k2.6.25.16 ...

Removing speaker icon
Since the speaker icon's volume control in my taskbar has no effect at all I'd like to get rid of it. What file do I edit to do this?

TP-Link WN322G problems
Here is the zd1211rw wifi driver for Zydas chipsets, patched to support the TP-Link WN322/422G. The patch is from http://marc.info/?l=linux-wireless&m=123379090904294&w=2 After installing this dotpet, reboot. UPDATE May 26 2009: The driver was originally located in the wrong directory. Now fixed ...

Thanks! I had seen that but to me "outliner" meant something else (I'm a Mac user, and I thought it was something for writing scripts, etc. Although you could technically write a script in one of these there are software packages for that which are quite different, and they are not what I want.) I ...

After trying really odd stuff I finally got Seamonkey to work, receiving AND sending mail but the solution was so weird I still don't know what to think. I had to uncheck "use name and password" in the Outgoing Servers' Security and Authentication option. This is the exact opposite of what Opera ...
