Mike Walsh, How do you know Quickpet->Info->Bionicpup updates was ever run? Latest update was 2020 jun 03. It was stated that Quickpet was used to install Skype. That did not work. The age was not the issue, yet! Yah; fair comment. Many folks don't seem to know it's even there. Nice to see Phil's s...

I installed 9.0.3 but see that it has a problem, maybe several. The desktop icons do not appear. Only gatotray and a cpu-load monitor appear in the tray, along with the 'menu' and 3 desktop icons. The task bar has the running programs, at expected. Conky displays as expected. Rox-filer does not app...

Thank you for your help with this issue. None of the Xdialog pets updated the display beyond the first line. Although I don't expect that Xdialog-2.6.5-x86_64.pet will show anything but the first line, it actually did not get that far! It aborted with an exit code of 134. FWIW, here is the trace: +...

Thanks, peebee. I have swapped Xdialog versions between BionicPup64 and FossaPup64 and find that both versions' updating works in BionicPup64 but not in FossaPup64! So it is not a problem with Xdialog, but with something else in the recent Puppies that impacts Xdialog. This looks messy. EDIT: I see...

hi, this was also mentioned on the bionicpup64 thread. i think the 32bit pnscan in /usr/local/bin got into the distro by woofce grabbing the wrong peasyport.pet which includes pnscan. interestingly the 64bit pnscan (which is the official ubuntu version) in /usr/bin is also detected as malware when u...

666philb New DeaDBeeF added via QuickPet Updates, but it needs a few tweaks especially to the .desktop file. Also, add the package opusfile to system before compiling if you want opus support via dedicated plugin. Personally I have reservations about version 1.8.3 although it seems OK in Stretch so...

hi fredx181, i really like trans_tray and i'm including it i fossapup (as well as your redshift). i actually use it quite a lot on irc #puppylinux chat. A feature i would like is for the translate window to display what language the translation is from as it's not always obvious. at the moment if it...

hi Mike Walsh,
in xenial you could try editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf change this line to true or try using xenials /etc/X11/xorg.conf.udev (rename to xorg.conf) not sure this works in xenial though.
