Can you boot your multisession cd of Puppy (mine is 2.02) again after save the settings when you finish the first session? Yes, very much so. Each time you shut down, the current session will be saved to the CD & reloaded on the next boot. So all your settings, files, configuration etc. will sa...

The wonderful thing about multisession is the CD effectively becomes your hard drive. No need for any other hard drive or USB memory at all. There is some wasted space, but so what? When the disc is full, it prompts for a new one. The old becomes your instant back-up. Boot time from my EPIA 5000 &am...

The main reason I prefer Puppy over DSL, and I use both, is the ability to work completely off a CD with the multisession feature. The CD effectively becomes the hard drive; no other hard disc, flash disc or USB stick is needed. All the work is saved back to the liveCD. When it's full, burn a new is...

Remove CD Eject from the Shutdown & Upgrade Scripts

When shutting down or rebooting, also when upgrading on a multi-session disc, the script ejects the CD, sometimes several times, warns the user not to close the tray, then requires a key press to continue. Why?! For most laptop or slimline CD drive users, this creates an error, as they are not capab...

Just a follow on question from this: If I'm running Puppy multisession i.e. completely from CD, where exactly would I place the wine0915_201.sfs file so it will be saved & available following the reboot? I have some Windows programmes which are simply not available under Linux, so the prospect o...

OK - there is a funny with the sound on 2.01. It does work - the RTL Radio stream on GXine plays, but other sound functions seem not to work. http://www.sonymusic.com/clips/video/SW/Hampton/SingASimpleSongFullVid.swf is my standard browser plug in test - and the kids like it! The .swf files plays, b...

Excellent! Yes, it does seem to work. SeaMonkey bookmarks all present and hardware all detected & working, not that there's much on my system! I'm typing from 2.01 now. I seem to have lost the speaker icon from the taskbar tray, but otherwise working as before. As with 2.00, it ejects the CD out...

How to Upgrade to 2.01 from 2.00 on a Multisession CD?

Is there an easy way to copy over my settings from a Puppy 2.00 multisession disc to a new 2.01 multisession disc? Can I boot up with my old disc, insert the new 2.01 disc & then simply shut down, saving settings on the way? Voila, all copied over to the new system, or is there a catch?! TIA VIA...
