Thanks nic2109. I had to remove my internal network card to make Puppy run. I discovered on Google that IBM had four different network cards for the ThinkPad TX series and one was not compatible with Linux or something. I think I got that one! Thus, I need a substitute for it. I am also using Netgea...

I'm wanting to add a network card to my IBM ThinkPad T22 laptop so I can plug into my office's LAN. Are there any good suggestions that works with Puppy out of the box or stay away from? Thanks. -Mark Below are a couple I'm looking into: Netgear® FA511 10/100 CardBus PC Card Adapter Nexxtech Etherne...

I writing this on my BIG Gateway laptop from work with none of the problems I am having with the ThinkPad (mentioned above). The Gateway has a 1Gig of RAM. I booted off of CD-ROM with thumb d...

Starting today, occurring twice, I start out with 56meg of free memory on the task bar, I start SeaMonkey and and then it goes critical and stays that was for more then 15min before I shut it down. When I go to shut it down, it appears to be shutting down, ...

No audio in Audacity with Puppy 2.13
I had installed Audacity in Puppy 2.12 and it worked just fine. After updating to Puppy 2.13, Audacity appears to be getting no input from any input device. Any suggestions would be welcomed. -Mark

SOLVED!
Again, thanks to all for the amazing support I got. After doing more research on the Internet, I discovered the problem was a PCI combo card (Intel PRO/100). There is a conflict with the modem portion for the current Linux kernels. I removed the card and all is working fine, I hope! I've lost my Eth...

Thanks for the great links! The weird part is now NONE of my live Linux CDs work like Knoppix or Ubuntu on the laptop, not just Puppy. All my MS disks will boot just fine. I am very frustrated with this. I just want things to work like they did before... I don't think it is a hardware issue since Wi...

Again, thanks for all the support I'm receiving! Ok, here are my two questions... 1) Why do I need to worry about MRB when I can boot from CD-ROM on NTFS volumes? I have a Win03 Server and XP Pro from work in my home office for development. In fact, I'm writing this on XP Pro using Puppy! I have bee...

Yes, that is correct. In fact I copied the pup_save.3fs file to another machine that has never had Puppy loaded on it and it all worked just fine with the same CD-ROM! Weird. I did have IRQ issues before I tried [puppy irqpoll]. When I have entered [puppy irqpoll] for the past few months, everything...

Many thanks again for all the support. I have tried all the suggestions and nothing has changed. I can boot Puppy with the same CD on two of my desktops OK. But not on my laptop which I use daily for that on the go stuff. In addition, I have dial-up at home and access T1/T3 lines at work and l...

I'm booting off the CD-ROM for Puppy 2.12 and HD for Windows. When I turn on the laptop, I can push F12 and select which boot device. When I select HD, Win98 boots OK. When I select boot from CD-ROM, I get what I listed above. Like I said, it has worked like a charm for months and I have been using ...
