Carolina 1.3 won't create file in USB NTFS file system
Hi all, I really like the speed & features of Carolina 1.3, but for some reason it is not allowing me to create a new file in my external usb drive with NTFS file system. I can modify an existing file, but can't create a new one. It does not matter whether I use the XFE file explorer, PCMan, or ...

Success !! Thanks again to all for the prompt and informative replies. I used Semme's suggestion to place the mount commands in rc.local. Added these line to end of the file: ### # Mount Specified File Systems at Startup #### mount -o defaults /dev/sda7 /mnt/sda7 mount -o defaults /dev/sda8 /mnt ...

Many thanks to all for the replies to my question! I have not had the chance to try any of the suggestions yet, or study the scripts in detail to understand exactly what they do; but, I suspect that Semme's suggestion to "pass simple mount commands in /etc/rc.d/rc.local" may work as I just want to ...

How to auto-mount drives at startup?
Hi,
In 32 bit Puppy I use Startmount, but I do not find this package for FatDog.
What would be the recommended way to have disk drives / partitions auto-mounted at start-up?
Thanks,
Bob

rtl8188ee driver
Does this version of Fatdog include support for the Realtec RTL8188E Wireless card? I tried to use Fatdog 631 in my Toshiba Satellite C55-A since it supports the UEFI boot system required by Windows 8 and I would like to be able to dual-boot; however my wireless card is not recognized. Searching the ...

LIghthouse boot slow due to drive searching
Hi, Using Lighthouse Pup 6.02 B2. Boot is unusually slow for Puppy as it appears that Lighthouse is searching every drive for Puppy files. I have used several other version of Puppy and have not seen this with the other versions. Is there any way to limit the search to only the home drive? Thanks ...

I have attempted to use several different drivers available via xorgwizard including all the ones for the chip set mfgr. I have always been able to select the 1290X1024 resolution; but either X will not restart (depending on driver selected) or it ignores the selected resolution (modesetting driver ...

How to add a monitor resolution?
Hi all, My monitor has apparently stopped providing ID info to allow Puppy (or any other OS) to properly determine what it is and set the resolution. I am using Slacko Puppy 5.5. My graphics card/chip is an AMD RS880 (on Dell motherboard) Selection the 1280 x 1024 LCD resolution under the ...

Solved -Broadcom ethernet adptr in Dell Inspiron not detectd
Hi Tempestuous, After installing the tg3 .pet, I just needed to reboot. Did not need to re-load the Broadcom driver. When you mentioned making the fix 'permanent', can I assume you are talking about needing to 'load' the "Broadcom" driver? And isn't the 'tg3' driver the Broadcom driver for the ...

Puppy 525, 510, 421 do not detect any ethernet interfaces using the on-board Broadcom ethernet (wired) adapter in my new Dell Inspiron 570. Based on the driver used by the pre-installed Windows7, the adapter should use the latest Broadom drivers for their NetLink 57xx adapters. This includes the tg3 ...
