Does facebook have any criteria to focus ads at musicians?
If not, advertising at a gear related site where you set up a forum,
might get more results.

Thanks for the responses. Thing is, I'm at the point where I have to decide whether to spend more money on this, in the form of advertising. Time is on your side. Money can be saved, while the product is improved, or new products developed. Developing a trusted presence in an established musicians ...

:) There is a dev at another forum, who is 'tuned for drama', for lack of better words, emotion just flies at him from all angles, and he takes things very personally. His products and presentation have at times needed some attention, but his prices reflect that. It is a great challenge to press on ...

Mansions are built brick by brick, and youtube is a great hod-carrier. I read where one win user a few days back had watched your new video, and was quite impressed. I would snag a bargain used laptop, install Studio1337, make accounts for email, Native Instruments, and IK Multimedia, install the fr...

If you are happy to be judge and jury, defining in life what 'should' be, then your definition of freedom is sorely lacking. I have watched a plethora of forum sagas where windows and linux musicians alike struggle mightily, wasting dozens if not hundreds of hours to achieve something a trivial purc...

I hope someone makes a commercial 'Printer Pup', with Scribus, Inkscape, Gimp, Xara, Abiword, wine, every linux printing subsystem and module, all the lesser known apps for dealing with text, graphic arts, scanners, photos, and printed output. Well worth $30 to take a stick to Grandmas at the holida...

Sorry to hear of this loss to your system. One always expects expensive devices will last. Last year, after hearing one-too-many horror stories of very new drives failing, I decided all the data I can't replace, goes on three drives, plus physical media stored off-site. Fire, theft, flood, lightning...

Re: Wine 1.4
I installed your wine, then windows audio plugins and daw Reaper, and it allgreen_dome wrote:my attempt at compiling wine-1.4
'just worked'. Changed a setting here and there, and off recording back to the windows partition.
Done on DpupExprimo312
Thanks for sharing your skills with so many!

I made a little DAW out of this, and remastered the CD, posting now from the remaster. Isn't it fun when things just work? :D Made a nice recording, and the main linux instruments and fx plugins, work as expected. Is there a recommended .sfs or .pet to install a version of wine? Thanks for sharing t...

Most puppy are good for audio, choosing one that
includes kde and qt apps, will reduce the number of manual install dependencies.
There is a lashstudio.sfs that can be found by google, that bundles
quite a few audio apps.
www.getstudio4.com is the puppystudio website.

The two things I like most about testing a new distribution, are having easy internet access, and a terminal on a taskbar, without futzing through new menus. Listing /usr/bin, and /etc in a terminal tell me how many smiles or frowns the next hour will hold. Being able to simply copy wvdial.conf to /...

Keeping things simple, allows for perfecting the core mission, and opens doors for others to attempt other things as desired. Once the core mission is accomplished and enjoyed for a season, then the next mission can begin. I say this as a bystander from the peanut gallery. Avoiding burnout is often ...

Hi, if possible, including wvdial/ppp in the next iso would help those of us with usb-3G modems to use the apt-get by just copying over a working wvdial.conf. Looks like about 7 or 8 debs need dpkg install to get it working, not the highest of mountains  Had to use failsafe to get a working bo...

liggiomm and licurl-gnutls
Tried installing qtractor, hydrogen and guitarix2, from .debs, but hydro needed libcurl-gnutls.so.4 and guitarix2 and qtractor both needed libgiomm (other main dependencies are likely met although more may be out there)) neither seems to be an easy dependency to solve. Not expecting a solution, but ...

Hi, some puppies fail to start x, and then xorg wizard goes to a black screen of death. What is the proper syntax for boot command arguments to avoid apic, ioapic, and the like? For acpi it shows to type puppy acpi=off would it be puppy apic=off ioapic=off or something else? Other distros may use no...

There is a wide divide between the user, like me, and those who code, and assemble the disparate parts into precision machines. Everyone benefits when we all seek to excel in our own endeavors, support the efforts of others, and refrain from malice. I hope each Puppy developer feels free to take the...
