Best location for FF portable folder
Hey Fred & Mike - I was getting the impression that it is not a good idea to keep the FFportable folder in root if I want to conserve RAM on bootup. Then today I saw a part of a post by mikesir that seemed to apply: "Except for portable applications, such as firefox portable, which are buil...

Hey Mike - It should be obvious to any viewer that your video is vastly superior to the average that is on Utube, and even more so to anyone looking for Puppy help. I think it surpasses most of the 'professional' ones also. Fred is right, you have produced something really good in all respects. I al...

Install on USB stick - Sucess
Hey Mike & Fred - Success! The portable FF is now installed and working on the SanDisk and also on another much smaller (2Gb) old USB stick. I followed the video, and the closed captioning was vital to understanding it. That, with the clear, detailed and very well paced manner of presentation, m...

Alive
Hey Fred - Since I am a nonagenarian, that is a question I ask myself every morning. Recent medical ,legal, financial and family imperatives have kept me from getting any further than trying to prepare the USB stick for the installation. I practiced, and did a dry run with an old small USB stick so ...

Hey Mike, ABSOLUTELY ! with you all the way! However long it takes, and whatever I can do to make it easier, is the way it will be. Believe me, I fully understand and appreciate that what you are doing is just for me, for which I feel very fortunate, and would in no way treat it lightly in the least...

Hey Fred - Thanks a lot! That helps me regain a bit of confidence again, but more importantly, sheds an understandable light on what happened and how to proceed. I'm guessing that Mike would agree and continue with the project he took upon himself in a true Puppy spirit of helping each other, to sho...

@ Mike I got to wondering if I clicked on the FF file that you meant, so I went into root and right licked on ffportable-instgz instead of the Firefox 68 ESR,tar.gz file that I did the first time. I think I only Left clicked the Firefox 68 ESR file before. Suddenly there appeared more Firefox files ...

Progress
Hey Mike I downloaded the UExtract file and installed it. When I open it from the Utility menu, it says it is UExtract 3.36. Okay I selected all the files which highlighted them, and then "extract with". The only option offered was "open with xarchive". I did not click on anythin...

@ Mike I downloaded the FF68 from your link and put it in root. I was going to do the same for the UExtract file, but I noticed the Puppy Menu has an entry in Utilities with that name; I am afraid to download now, because for all I know, I could wind up with 2 files that are the same and having had ...

Brother Printer install pet ozsouth
Hey ozsouth - Just to let you know that I am slowly working on this, but am at a standstill and don't know what to do next. So far: Downloaded your Brother pet for tahr64. and thought it got installed. You said to next restart X. I don't know how to do that, so I rebooted, hoping that would do it. C...

Hey Mike - I think you are finally someone who understands my level of non-expertise and is willing to take the time and trouble to key the advice down to it; Thank Gawd! I agree that it couldn't be any fairer than that, and I will make a maximum effort until I get it right. Yes, it sounds workable ...
