I am trying the new 5.7 and have found the same issue as metastasis69, won't finish the shutdown/reboot sequence?? Is Slacko installed to flash drive, frugally? If so, any kernel oopses/panic at shutdown time (in such case - did you try newer snapmergepuppy yet?) or the shutdown sequence _just_ sto...

Re: Slacko 5.7 first boot.

Whilst that's a PAE version, I suspect if you open a terminal and issue a command of cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep pae you'll likely see a return (i.e. have a cpu pae flag and hence have a pae supporting cpu) Thanks, rufwoof, it indeed returns a flag to indicate pae compatibility, will try your suggesti...

...and trouble with wifi :(

I'm having some troubles on the shutdown sequence. It hangs or sometime it would not turn at all. I'm having some issues on Huawei dongle. It automatically shutdown and I eventually lost all the things that I'm doing on my computer cause it resets the computer. I think Slacko version 5.6 is still b...

Missing button...

G'day again, solo, and anyone else who has been following my conky clock button saga. I've managed to stumble on the solution... :D First of all, I had installed Python3_3.2.3 and thought that, surely, the higher (newer??) version would cover all python needs. Apparently not :( Also, I had installed...

Hey thanks again solo, for your suggestions, I've just tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but to no avail, and I've checked all the files you listed, they are all there in the places that they should be. I must admit that I have never, in all the other installs, copied the conkyclock file to the...

G'day again solo, I tried installing that conky dev you suggested but it didn't make any difference. I also tried delaying the startup for the conky window, just in case it was interfering with the clock widget start up, but again, no difference. Anyway, I'll keep looking and experimenting. Cheers a...

This is just a hunch, but right underneath the conkyclock widget file listed on the archive.org Saluki PET repository, there's this file called conky_DEV-2.3.3.4-i486.pet. There's a slim chance that you're issues would be solved if you install this PET. It doesn't hurt to try anyway. Thanks solo, I...

Hey solo, sorry to be a bit slow getting back to this thread but I've got python 2.7.2 and 3.2.3 installed and there is a folder called imlib2 in my usr/lib folder so my button should be working?? Having said that, there is no usr/bin/python that I can see, there are a couple of python-related files...

Button not working :(

G'day again, another issue with Conky Clock Widget, this time in Precise Puppy 5.7. I've installed this .pet in my Precise 5.7 installation but the button won't show and thus won't work. I've tried changing its position in case it was being hidden by something on the desktop but it won't show up at ...

Hi @Killapup. Would you publish which solution you found workable? Thanks Thanks, solo, for the links to those pages, I was able to fix it, for gcmartin's info (and anyone else who is interested), by installing the font that is listed in the script. I knew I had Dejavu fonts installed (they seem to...

Clock Widget

G'day all you pups, I've got a query relating to the Conky Clock Widget available from Smokey's Saluki pet_packages repository, I hope this thread is the relevant one to post about this. It installed ok, and works well except for the calendar. I'll post an image to show the problem. I've tried looki...

killapup, As I asked before, this info will give us a clue as to what may be going on. My signature statement is so true. What you do not tell us is usually the clue to solving the problem. I am posting this to extend my apologies to bigpup and gcmartin for not responding to their posts in this thr...

Slacko 5.7 first boot.

G'day all, I've just booted the new 5.7 (without using my 5.6 savefile) and, for the first time, Slacko did not recognise my wifi. I'm very disappointed, one of the things that drew me to Slacko puppy was its ease of wifi setup. Since starting with 5.3, Slacko has never missed a beat with my laptop'...

Thanks for your desire to help,

Well, it looks like the glitch was something to do with the revised menu.lst. I've sorted that and back on 5.5. now. I've deleted 5.6 (again) and also removed Precise, I'll reinstall Precise at some stage but I'll have to see what can be done with 5.6?? I just don't understand how it is supposed to ...
