Hi boof, Since you are using Bionic64 bit you can probably find the wine pet in the "Quickpet" software installer. If you can't find it in Quickpet you can go straight to the Bionic64 repository at https://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-bionic64/ Scroll down toward the bottom ...

@ boof:- In all honesty, mate, if you want to do Windows stuff that bad, why don'tcha just run Windows? WINE has always been a wee bit "hit & miss" (frankly, with some releases over the last few years, it's been more "miss" than "hit"..!), and, although the g...

Personally, I would never touch "autoruns" with a barge-pole when I did use Windows. I have zero intentions of helping anyone to use them under WINE. Some things I draw the line at! (Besides which, I wouldn't even know where to start ...) Mike. https://i.postimg.cc/DfPyX1Wp/manshrug-small....

Out of several I've tried, one graphics app sticks out for ease-of-use & works on every 64-bit Puppy I've thrown it at:- Lightgallery It's a lightweight image viewer with slideshow capabilities, very neatly put together.....something like a combination of Geeqie & Viewnior, with a lot of opt...

@ Will:- Your comment about using "any kind of secure mail service" is totally at odds with my own recommendation earlier on, then! Hotmail obviously can't be considered "secure" in the light of your research. I can't really say as that surprises me, given the company that...

Well, I copied my 32-bit Vivaldi-portable in its entirety to a USB 3.0 stick, and plugged it in, and ran it from there. As expected, it was indeed quite a demanding task for the old Dell! I have DPup 'Stretch' on there, as well as Slacko 5.6.0. Vivaldi-portable runs OK here, though of course it does...

Looks like a security freak's dream. Looking in Preferences, it says they're being managed by your organization , and upon closer examination, it looks like over 95% of all settings are screwed down tighter than a Jewish financier's wallet. Almost everything is "blocked by default", so to ...

Cheers, Phil. I've got an idea I came across this site a while ago, but it's gotten a whole lot bigger now... What do they do differently? Why use them? I'll say this here & now, musher, and save you the trouble. You won't be interested in these, I can guarantee that. Why? Simple. Because every ...

TBH, having gone through much the same process myself, I can only agree. Case in point; the old Compaq tower. 64-bit, dual-core; Wooo! And 3 GB RAM.... Very, very early 64-bit tech, from 15/16 yrs ago. Essentially a pair of P4s strapped together; no hyperthreading, fairly basic instruction ss...

Just to clarify memo's statement, where he says to "drag the web-page across to the side-panel", you want to drag the actual tab across to the side-panel. This creates what Vivaldi calls a "web-panel", and it does indeed use the 'mobile' version of any page you put there..... Hop...

Hi, Smithy. That 'formula' works very well, too. I forget who told me ( it may even have been Fred! ), but back when I was still running the old Compaq tower, I used it to get the PPM for pemasu's UPup 'Raring' 3992 functional again.....and, with very few exceptions, it worked perfectly. And that wa...

It is interesting reading in this thread, people that have nothing to do with the management or running or ownership of the site are calling for the site to be permanently locked because they want to force evrybody to do what they want. Just what gives anyone besides John Murga the right to lock hi...

Social media overall unnerves me. I signed up for twitter when it first started, thinking it was an open news feed. Dozens of strangers wanted to follow me, so I quit after 2 days. I prefer this focussed, (usually) friendly forum. I wish the PLUG well. Couldn't agree more, oz. Frankly, it freaks me...

Re: Wifi access point deb file gives no menu entry?

Hello I am running xenial64 on a Dell latitude e6230. I have a Ubiquiti AP AClite WiFi access point and have downloaded a deb file from them. It installs to utility but says there is no menu entry so how would I access the software to control it as it does seem to need the software to be running. A...

Evening, all. Here are the 'portable' versions of the 'new' Firefox Extended Support Release..... v78.01 currently. Same format as usual, as based on Fred's original Firefox-portable packages. Download; unzip; place the directory anywhere you like. Click to open, click 'LAUNCH' to run. The necessary...
