Hi fred,
your script works perfectly, I copied it in Startup folder so tapping will be available at every boot.
Thank you!

Wonderful distribution, complete and easy to use, apt-get works as expected. Also the dark look is elegant and relaxing to the eyes. Touchpad tapping is not working on my Hp notebook, and Flsynclient is missing. How to enable tapping? /etc/X11/xorg.conf isn't there as in other Puppies. Do I have to ...

@jafadmin Yes at the beginning of my VPN experiments I tried to set up the Windows 2003 server native 'remote access' VPN, but never had success. I don't remember exactly what was the problem, I recall that a message 'Routing and remote access is disabled' appeared, though it was indeed running, so ...

Softether VPN client compiled for 32bit Puppies
I have finally succeeded in setting a VPN so that I can access my work LAN when I'm at home. Workplace LAN is behind a modem/router, where an OLD server PC runs an OLD Windows 2003 server. Workstation PCs run Windows 7 or Windows 10. My goal: connect to workplace VPN from my home PC where I run Slac...

You can try Precise Light.
It's quite recent and very light, you can install Palemoon/Seamonkey/Firefox etc and you'll have a good puplet for browsing the web on older hardware.
I use it in a Pentium 4 1,8Ghz and 768MB ram notebook.

ozboomer, I guess that your 2 PCs are on the same net. The easiest way to see the Windows 8.1 desktop from Puppy could be to use a VNC server on Windows and a VNC client from Puppy. I also use Anydesk on Windows PCs, when I want to connect from the internet, as Anydesk provides an encrypted connecti...

My menu.lst file contains the following line on top of it, before all the 'kernel ' and 'initrd' stuff: timeout 30 this makes GRUB wait for user input for 30 seconds, displaying the GRUB usual interface. Syslinux.cfg uses the very same 'timeout ' parameter, but it calculates 1/10th of a second, so a...

My first Linux was a Red Hat 6 version with kernel 2.4.20 that was bundled with an italian PC magazine, year 2003. It was not very used due to an incompatibility with an USB Dsl modem I had. Then I began to install other distibutions, lost time and got angry, discovered live distros like DSL and Kno...

Correct me if I'm wrong: cattledog, you have a 6GB Puppy OS, does it mean you have a 6GB pupsave__or_bionicsave_or_whatever_is_called_.2fs? If so, writing a 6GB file to a USB 2.0 thumb drive takes normally .... 10 minutes!!! Nothing wrong or weird. Have you ever tried to write a 6GB movie to a thumb...

Why don't you try a Remaster? Install all your needed programs, such as a modern browser like Palemoon (Pentium 3 is a Sse-capable CPU, there is a sse version of Palemoon 27 somewhere in this forum), then do a Remaster of Puppy. This will create a new ISO of puppy CD, open the ISO with Isomaster, ex...

I think it's one of the best puplet I've used so far - and I have been using Puppy since 2005. It has proven to be very complete and solid. I have one little problem with the power applet ...
