It works!

THANK YOU!

This is the FIRST time I have gotten my Palm to sync with Puppy! I've tried other PUP and PET packages, and they never worked, even after messing with modprobs, etc. This worked first time!

Using Puppy 3.01 Hard install and a Palm T3.

You wrote: When you've got the playlist window open, you press the "+" button and select "Add CD" (or just hit Shift+C). If that doesn't work, you might want to look in the preferences, under Plugins-->cdaudio-->prefences (or is it "settings"?) and see that it's all ok....

Bump does look like a cool little player. (I too have been having problems with stability of Gxine.) However, I can only get it to work on file on my hard drive. it does not seem to be able to find an audio CD. Gxine can do this, so it isn't the CD. Is there a trick to locating the CD in Bump that I...

"killall wavplay" in console worked. Thanks! I still have a lot to learn about command line. I know I can play a file in Gxine, and usually do. Problem was that I'd started the file by accident with wavplay, and wavplay doesn't have a GUI interface. It seemed to me there had to be some way...

How to halt wavplay once it's playing a file?

Is there a way to halting wavplay once it has been started playing a file? I clicked on a WAV file and as Wavplay is the default player, it dutifully played. But then I could find no way to stop it once it started! It just seems to play until the end of the file is reached. I checked the Help file, ...

"Foomatic-rip failed" one possible solution?

I just "solved" a problem with a CUPS/Foomatic printer. "Foomatic-rip" problems seem pretty common, so I want to share in case it can help someone else. I am using Puppy 3.01 as a full hard-disk install, with an HP Deskjet 3915 printer. Following suggestions from this Forum I got...

Can Puppy do Fax?

Is there a Fax program for Puppy? I've been messing with a Hard Puppy full install of 3.01 on a refurbished IBM Thinkpad R50, and have gotten it to handle most of the things I can do on my XP laptop. Now I'm on to the more esoteric stuff. I'm wondering if Puppy can send a fax. I haven't found much a...

That did it!

As it happens, it was a dotpup, so editing the menu file directly was required, but it worked the first time.

Thanks!

How to add programs to Start Menu?

Is there a way to add a proram to the Start Menu? I managed to installed a program from a dotpup to 3.01, and was able to create a desktop icon that works. I would also like to add an item item for the program to Start, but haven't been able to find instructions. I am using 3.01 as a full Hard (non-...
