Where does the Network Wizard store its data?
The Network Wizard works fine only the first time I run it. It did when I loaded Alpha 6, and again when I loaded Alpha 7 (both running off of a frugal install on a pendrive). The second time, however, it says it connects, but SeaMonkey can't connect. When run the first time, the Wizard scans and fi...

the output of my ddcprobe is exactly the same as that reported by Barrington on Jan. 14, except I don't get the last two lines, reporting modes of 1024x768. the Toshiba Spec Sheet for the Portege 3110Ct says: Video Trident Cyber9525 64-bit Graphics Accelerator 32-BIT PCI local bus support BitBLT har...

Protege Booting - again
How much of the changes you were discussing with Barrington earlier in the year got incorporated in to Alpha6? I have gotten Puppy successfully running off of a usb stick on my desktop, and similarly on a Thinkpad T43, but all of that was preparatory to my real goal which is to resurrect an old Port...

Problem solved, I think
I found this exact issue addressed in a post from two years ago.

so now if I can reload Puppy on my desktop, edit the xorg.conf file, and resave that, it should work. I hope. Thank you. I'll let you know.

Creating the floppy
OK -- I solved that problem. I figured out that I needed WinRaWrite -- which I had a copy of -- loaded that and the .img file on the Toshiba, and created the boot floppy. BUT -- there are problems with the floppy: 1. it runs through the autoexec and freezes when it gets to looking for a drive with t...

Creating a Wakepup2 Floppy
Right now I am running Puppy on a newer PC without a floppy drive, but with a CD RW drive. I want to be able to run Puppy on my old Toshiba Portege 3110, which won't boot the LiveCD from its PCMCIA CD drive, but which does have a floppy drive it will boot from. So a frugal install is exactly what I ...
