Thanks, labbe5, for keeping us informed.

Digikam 6.4.0 works OOTB under BionicPup64 and Xenialpup64.

Untested as yet. But see Mike Walsh's post here regarding the 32-bit Digikam AppImage version 5.9.0. http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 480#996480

This versions may require a similar adaption.

Follow up: 32-bit worked OOTB in dpup-stretch. Did not work in Slacko 5.7.2CE even after installation of the pet Mike Walsh provided via above reference post.

Will have to figure out how to extract an appimage in order to determine what dependencies a Puppy lacks which the appimage expects to be present.

I thought that the following command would perform an extraction. But I kept getting "file not found" report. Code used was

exec FULL_PATH/FULL_NAME.appimage --appimage-extract.

Suggestions?

Convert the appimage to an iso file. IIRC I saw something for that here in the last few months.

Extracting an AppImage

#5 Post by mikeslr »

Hi 8Geee,

I don't recall that post. But he command I posted was correct. It worked as soon as I moved the appimage to /root:

exec /root/EXACT_NAME.appimage --appimage-extract

Either I was typing the path wrong, or the appimage, in a 4th level folder, was buried too deep.

I don't think I'll bother trying to get it to run under Slacko 5.7.2CE. ldd indicated 20 +/- libraries missing, mostly qt5s.
