Cannot connect to internet

#1 Post by panoss »

I 'm trying to connect to internet but I can't.
I tried with Puppy 5.6 and with BionicPup32, the result is the same.

Recently I changed to a new internet provider.
With my previous I could connect without problem (using puppy linux).
In windows I face no problem.

This is my log file:

Down at the bottom there where it gives reason 14 as a dissociate reason has to do with TKIP failure.

It might help to make sure your WPA algorithm is set to AES. :?

The option I have for encryption is:
-none
-WEP-
-WPA

In WPA I cannot see ane 'AES' option.

CCMP is the same thing as AES

WPA is better than WEP

WEP is easy for a hacker to break.

WPA2 is better than WPA1
WPA3 is better than WPA2

If wifi is configured without specifying what to use,
the wifi should connect using the best encryption method.

Normally, you would choose CCMP, WPA2, and PSK is the password (pass key)

You can see how you are connected by typing in a console terminal:

Code: Select all

wpa_cli status
It will also tell you your IP address.
If there is no ip_address= you are not connected.(which is often a dhcpc problem)
