Is there an app that can replace hangout for phone calls?

#1 Post by gychang »

I run BionicPup64 and SlackoPup64. Usually have to switch to firefox (my preferred is palemoon) to use hangout to make a phone call. I am under impression hangout cannot run in PM.

Just wondering if anyone find another "phone" app that is easy to use.

Regards Google services, I am sorry I can not help you.

But we do have a Puppy Phone app in the internet menu. This one will require you and your friends to create new psip accounts.

@ gychang:-

Perhaps not your 'cup of tea', but there's always Skype.....

Runs OOTB in Bionicpup64; see my post HERE for a wee 'workaround' to get 'er up-and-running. Needs a Microsoft a/c, though, and for purely 'phone-calling' you have to apply for a Skype phone number, and purchase Skype 'credit'....

(On second thoughts, maybe not...! Video-calls/messaging are much simpler with the darned thing... )

As Enrique says, there's always PSIP, though she can be 'fiddly' to get working correctly.

Mike.
