G'day Mike, I've tried installing this on a Toshiba NB200 NetBook N280 intel Atom CPU, Single Core 1.66 GHz, Maximum 2 GB RAMemory. Frugal install on an eXt4 FS.

Trouble iz it's Not finding ( & consequently Not loading ) the ce_slacko Directory or ceslackosave.4fs File inside, on the Next ReBoot & in Fact asks me 2 Create a New ceslackosave.4fs on Every ShutDown or ReBoot. Altho I Really want 2 Save 2 a Directory rather than a File.

Please Help me Solve this Frustrating issue...

Thanx

"Toshiba... Atom,,, eXt4 FS". Emphasis supplied.

If you provide the menu.lst I'll take a look. But:

(1) I've had problems with Toshiba and avoid them, so can't be of much help.
(2) Many 'older' Puppies have problems with file-systems formatted as Linux Ext4. My hard-drives are Linux Ext3. I choose Linux Ext3 as the format for SaveFiles. Although Slacko 5.7.2.CE is 'updated', it still is an old Puppy. Don't know whether it can properly handle Linux Ext4. Don't have any way to test.
(3) I don't recommend this Puppy. I built and published it at a time I thought there was a need for an updated Puppy for 'old computers'. Shortly thereafter, radky published dpup-stretch, http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 590#974590. Later, jrb published precise-lite, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 58#1024458. And both mistfire and 8Geee have continued their excellent work on Slacko based Puppies, refining and updating them: X-Slacko Slim 4.4r49, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 819#909819; AtomicPup-XX66, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 06#1054206. Note the latter is specifically built with Atom CPU's as a target.

All of these are much more versatile operating systems that work well on 'old computers'.

.log files

Where else other than in /tmp are .log files able to accumulate in CE Slacko Puppy 5.7.2?
