I know there's a few of you all on here but I was wondering if you all had any suggestions on finding memory for this thing.
I only have 64MB in mine now and I have been trying a few times to get it upgraded to 256MB. I went through 2 ebay auctions and have had no success. First time the memory was physically too big (and the auction stated it would work with my laptop) and the 2nd time while it was indeed smaller, my system beeped at me for it. So any suggestions? Am I overlooking something? Or is my system truly that picky?

heh...exactly why I don't do business on eBay.
I maxed out my laptop memory with RAM from OEMPCWORLD and am pleased with their service. I checked their main memory configurator for your lappy and came up with this:
32M RAM modules - $13.85
64M RAM modules - $15.85
Not bad prices for EOM memory...a Hell of a lot less than I paid for the RAM for my Gateway!
However, their configurator shows the Dell Latitude CPi having a max memory of 128M; not the 256M you mentioned. Wassup w/that?

Interesting that it states my laptop's max supported memory was only 128MB...I saw a full spec sheet of my laptop somewhere else on the net and it said it'd support up to 256. Guess it's some of the later models of the CPi series. The price isn't bad, I can just buy an additional 64MB stick and be set then. Thanks.

I just doubled (64 to 128) by way of an eBay purchase. It was my second try. My first was also a bust.
I just checked the site alienjeff cites and it appears some CPi laptops max out at 128 while others can go to 256. Mine is a CPi D266XT. This shows up in the Dell splash screen while the BIOS is loading. If you scroll through the Dell Laptop list in the configurator you'll find your specific model listed and what your top end is.
The bad news is the price jumps quite a bit for the 128 stick. $69.85. Not bad compared to late model memory but still a leap from 16 bucks.

Laptop Memory
I didnt think I would be able to run Puppy on this thing. I have 64 meg of ram and I did an install (full to hd) with a half gig swap and it is running pretty darn good.
I lost my cd though. Any one else have a problem like this?
