Coby to make $100 laptop

#1 Post by SirDuncan »

No word on the exact specs yet (at least not that I've seen), but it sounds like it will compete with the smaller eee. There will a 7 inch and a 9 inch model, both will run Linux. At $100 if it has wireless, a card reader, and decent battery life, I'll probably end up buying one.

Low price, probably moderate specs, sounds like a Puppy box to me!

i second that SirDuncan :D . Sounds like it could be good enough that it could lead to the eee pc losing in the marketplace.

and a version of bobpup would be good for such a machine 8) . if a computer which can handle the internet costs only $100, then there is space for such in todays market, where computers seem to finally be decreasing in power and price, rather than the opposite.

let's have puppy prepare for this.

i agree with JB4x4. The ill-fated cloudbook (might have been ill-fated).
