testing release: Moo Pup

#2 Post by elraven »

Hey Wolf_pup and moo. :D
my testing of Moo Pup is still on going but I thought I'd share what I've found thus far. I'm running Moo Pup on my little gateway essential , 400 mhz ,and 256megs ram. Boot up from cd is smooth with no surprises other than some mention about files ,but otherwise it loads fine. programs pop up when clicked , aside from gparted , which isn't moo pups fault, its an issue between series 4 and my computer i guess. All in all it runs great and i'm enjoying using it.

Looking forward to seeing more mooving developement with Moo Pup. 8)
Sorry wolf_pup i couldn't resist :D

While am downloading and you are sleeping, here is a wish list for Moo:

- YM clone (Gyachi?)
- MSN clone (aMSN?)

patriot has been posting the use of YM with Wine, but even that is not so easily done.

Cheers.

:D Thanks! Nice and fast, has bcrypt and Xfdiff-cut and the gFTP in it actually works! I don't Pidgin, but...I like it!

Can you tell me where to get a devx and kernelsource for it? I can't recall at the moment, which Puppies use kernel 2.6.27.4 and libc.so.6 2.10.1...

What is Voodoo?

upup and dpup use 2.6.27.4 but libc.so.6 2.7. Don't know any pup that uses 2.10.1...even my Debian Experimental hasn't gone that far yet

Cheers

Unfortunately GParted doesn't work, it simply vanishes after the device is chosen from the initial dialog box.

Still, that's an improvement over official Puppies 4.12 and 4.2, aragon's 4.2-SMP, maggotspawn's 4.20-RT-SMP, and official Puppy 4.21, all of in which GParted goes into an endless loop with CPU utilization 100%.

GPartEd works correctly in Lighthouse Pup 4.42c.
