One of the first steps in JRV's procedure is to shrink the Windows partition using GParted.

Some people have posted recently that this is causing problems.

It is always safer to create/resize Windows partitions with a Windows tool.

If you don't want to mess with Windows partitions and are happy with a frugal install of Puppy there are a few ways to do it. One is the Lin'N'Win method linked to previously but here it is again:

This has been written for version 4 Puppy (currently 4.2.1) although it works with 4.3.1 so long as you change the filename references.

How about dual booting Puppy with Windows 7?
I'm looking at building a modest gaming computer with my tax refund, and I'm considering moving to Windows 7. But I don't know how hard it would be to dual boot Win 7 and Puppy, because I don't wanna give up my Puppy if I don't have to.

First you need to unrar the file.

If you are using Windows download and install WinRAR.


If you are using Ubuntu install unrar with the command:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Then right click the file and select "Extract Here"
