Marion, it's technically necessary (and courteous) to reveal the version of Puppy you are using, as well as the exact details of your hardware. What's the brand/model of laptop?
Better still, run this command and post the results -

Code: Select all
lspci -n
No network interface
I'm working with Puppy 4.0 and have the following ethernet controller:
Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet
Thanks

I have installed both pets, then reboot, but the new drivers
cannot be find on the list of modules.

Yes, a recent version of the Attansic/Atheros driver is what you need.
There's your problem. Get a recent version of Puppy and it will have the right driver.Lady wrote:I'm working with Puppy 4.0

"Extras for Puppy 4.3 with 2.6.30.5 kernel"
atl1e-1.0.0.11-test.pet
atl1e-1.0.0.10.pet
Of course those drivers won't work with Puppy 4.0. Puppy 4.0 has the 2.6.21.7 kernel, which is totally incompatible with the 2.6.30.5 kernel in Puppy 4.3.Lady wrote:I have installed both pets then reboot, but the new drivers cannot be find on the list of modules.
Problems with the interface
I use Puppy 4.3.1
First Puppy detected a network interface.
I configure it (DHCP) and save the configuration.
But I couldn't go in the internet.
The I reboot Puppy and now Puppy don't find the ethernet interface, only wireless.
I try to load the modules atl1 c and atl1e, but without success.
Puppy don't find the ethernet interface.
I'm really unhappy and don't know what to do ??
