Another alternative is to use Quirky6+ or Quirky Tahr 6+ : no longer a save file to worry about.

Boot took longer because the resize process is done at next boot. Boots after that should not take as long.I increased its size and rebooted and that solved the problem. However, rebooting took longer,
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
