Fantastic!
If you are interesting I have translated the menu entries in Italian.

Add new entry: 'Mate- Puppy-Business.directory'
Warning: The transaltion of 'calculate' entry is not possible. My way: create a new 'mate category' called Mate-Puppy-Business.directory. It's works fine.
Hi, can someone provide fool-proof instructions on how to install the Mate desktop onto a late-version Puppy. I *believe* that I installed the Mate desktop application, and seem to get some of the apps which come with Mate, but have not had the *desktop* come up (ie. top panel, Applications/Places/System, icons, screens), and no obvious way to select that desktop format to make it active.
There IS a puppy_mate.iso online which works, but uses Mate1.4, on Puppy5.2.xx.
Has someone progressed this project since then?
Thanks, I'll keep persisting.
Can someone confirm that mate-precise-installer-0.3.pet works with puppy_tahr.iso. ?
That's where I'm at.
When I un-pack mate-precise-installer-0.3 I get a mate-precise-installer-0.3 folder.
Then puppy does not respond to shutdown process. Stays on.
Have to force shutdown by holding start button.
When I restart, there is no indication that mate has been installed. There is no obvious facility to select the mate desktop on this puppy desktop, or on next reboot.
Any help by someone who has mated puppy_tahr.iso with the mate desktop, would be appreciated.

Unsure if this is being supported but installed it, works great for everything, only issue is when I run the command to save my session it won't save. I get the dialog "Request to save current session is queued..." and it never disappears on its own/saves. I have to swap to JWM in order to save, which is pretty inconvenient. Any resolutions? D:
that is strange... pupsaveconfig launch it it if already installed and set it 0 'zero' at shutdown.
Does it make a difference. ?
Another idea : change the theme, sometimes the theme get the process fail.
I could not help more, as i run the french version, Triton, and never had that issue.
Can those who *have* installed the mate.sfs, explain what they did after
they got this 'non-resizable-window', and the question in the header which
cannot be answered, and to (possibly) continue the process? This is to go
onto a fresh install of Slacko 6.3.2.
I found that closing this window and continuing, broke my usb storage
device - no longer boots Slacko632. I get kernel issues at startup on this usb now,
even after reinstalling Slacko and writing over existing Slacko 6.3.2 data.
(May need to reformat the usb device independent of the Slacko
install process.)
Edit :
The original Slacko I used here, already had numerous applications installed via Puppy Package Manager.
From my experience (see next post below), installing extra apps via PPM will break Slacko632-with-mate1.16.sfs installed.
I reformatted the USB device to ext3.
Can't reproduce the problem I had on first try.
Second time, it was all good, well behaved.
Here's the screenshot of Slacko632 with Mate.sfs installed.
For those involved in creating this - 'Good Job'.
Wishlist
1. A transparency layer for Applications/Places/System menu items
would be nice.
2. A gui application to change between mate and jwm would be good.
(the latest P.R.E.R Puppy has this to move between Openbox and jwm).
update...
Found a Problem
Seems that the mate desktop breaks after installing apps via the Puppy Package Manager
through the JWM desktop. I installed Pale Moon.
This appeared correctly in the Mate Desktop application menu, under the Internet category I think.
I installed Asunder CD app via the Puppy Package Manager through the JWM desktop.
This did not appear in the Mate Desktop application menu.
Upon shutdown and reboot, I get the desktop background-image only, which will appear
under Mate Desktop, but no Mate icons or top/bottom panels.
Basically nothing to work with.
Can only shutdown at power switch.
I was using Triton Mate by loading Browsers from my tool case. I changed operator, but browser still cannot be loaded as foreseen
Boring, i upload Shiba INU MATE from America (South) to give it a chance.
MATE is successful when used with Ubuntu, but does a flop among Puppy world.
