Machine: Lenovo Ideapad 100 (new 1.5 years ago)
I've had a lot of problems getting the realtek8723be wifi card
working in puppy. The 4.1.11 kernel had drivers for it but the connection
would drop so often it was useless.
So I'm just posting to inform that it works flawlessly with the 4.9.15 kernel.
(found at http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/huge_kernels/)
I'm running tahrpup64_6.0.6 and I just downloaded the newest kernel for xenial-pup and renamed/replaced the vmlinuz and zdrv files.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
(Have been hunting around for solutions/drivers since I got this machine and very happy to have finally solved this issue)

If youre having problems with wi-fi, u should try a newer kernel with newer drivers.
Check out this post where I explain how to do it:
