1rst thank you. 90% of the stuff I had accomplished in this forum is because your help. I know, my apology I like to follow rules. But knowing this is where you spent most of the time, well I thought I could squeeze a question. As respect to you. it will not happen again. Keep the good work.

Kernel Release: 5.4.1-lxpup64 tested in LxPupSc 19.09 +6 on the Fujitsu S761 hardware detailed above. Frugal Grub4Dos install in my 'Experimental' directory on SSD. Booted first as pristine and set up timezone, SNS connection, touchpad configuration etc. Savefile created and reboot went fine. Dmesg checks, resource use at idle, microcode early loading, video FPS, suspend and resume all OK. No changes from the 5.3.12 kernel (I skipped 5.3.13). Then rebooted using my scrubbed savefile from 19.09 +6 with the 5.3.12 kernel. Nice clean boot, all tests OK as above. Posting from that install in Slimjet 24.0.5.0 run-as-spot from SFS now. Just fed it Leonard Cohens "Thanks for the dance" CD and it seems happy with that. CD loaded>dialog box>play with Pmusic as expected. No DVDs yet.

Cheers,

Thanks,

There appear to be some keyboard problems (with some hardware) with 19.09+7 .... apologies

If you are seeing problems like keys mapped incorrectly or country settings not being permanent please convert your 19.09+7 iso to an 19.09+7X iso with the:

19.09+7 to 7X delta

Similar deltas for LxPupSc64 and ScPup32 and ScPup64 are available.

Kernel Release: 5.4.2-lxpup64 swapped into LxPupSc 19.09 +7+ on the i5 based Fujitsu S761 laptop. All my usual system tests fine, two days of light normal use also fine. Basically nothing to report going from 5.4.1 to 5.4.2.
Thanks,

Kernel Release: 5.4.4-lxpup64 swapped into my frugal Grub4Dos install of LxPupSc 19.09 +7+ to SSD on my Fujitsu S761 laptop. Clean boot, all usual system checks look good. Video speed, SSD/memory throughput, and idle resource use pretty much unchanged from the 5.4.2 kernel. Microde early loading works, mitigation is:

Code: Select all

itlb_multihit:KVM: Vulnerable
l1tf:Mitigation: PTE Inversion
mds:Mitigation: Clear CPU buffers; SMT vulnerable
meltdown:Mitigation: PTI
spec_store_bypass:Mitigation: Speculative Store Bypass disabled via prctl and seccomp
swapgs barriers and __user pointer sanitization
spectre_v2:Mitigation: Full generic retpoline, IBPB: conditional, IBRS_FW, STIBP: conditional, RSB filling
tsx_async_abort:Not affected
I checked microcode quite recently and there was no update for the Sandy Bridge CPU in that intel package. No multimedia checks as of yet.

Daily use for now. Posting from Slimjet 24.0.5.0 run-as-spot from SFS.

Cheers,

As with the 64b LxPupSc, LxPupSc-20.01+0-T-k64 installed to my Fujitsu S761, both as a pristine install, up through setting up timezones, firewall, SNS connection, touchpad configuration, adding in rightclicks and desktop drive icons from the options tab in Change Appearance; and as an update to my 19.09 +7+ frugal Grub4Dos install to SSD on the Fujitsu. Boot, system checks, video speed, mem/SSD throughput all good and unchanged in both the pristine install and the update. Posting from QtWebBrowser in the pristine install now. Fresh savefile created and tested with a reboot. The 32b Desktop Drive icon pet installed correctly in the 32b pristine and the previously installed one in the 32b update also worked correctly. No multimedia tests in either the 64b or 32b as yet. So far so good this year on this one:)
