I bought an adapter to convert it to a UK plug and JIDE announced UK plugs would be available about three days later.

Doesn't your new monitor have speaker jacks?
Doesn't appear so. That's why audio out is important for Remix mini.

OS
Remix OS
They don't say which version of Remix OS for the Cube
It may be older version 1.5 or even version 1.0
which may explain the cheap price

Report on internet

http://www.techinsider.io/google-to-mer ... id-2015-10
Google plans to merge its two operating systems Chrome and Android
into one operating system that can run on any device, The Wall Street
Journal's Alistair Barr reports. The change could happen as early as 2017,
according to the report. Google may also show off an early version of the
software in 2016.

Rockchip has developed a similar modification as Jide.

Charbax has the first report

this looks very similar to what Jide is making with their RemixOS,
however Light Biz OS seems to be more feature rich and has better
window optimization

ARMdevices.net 4 hours ago (edited)
+jose carranza For now Jide Remix OS 2.0 is better I think. Although this
one has a couple special features like second display, zoom, digitizer stuff
maybe, I think Jide Remix OS is at higher quality/usability for now.
Remix can resize windows which I think is better than zoom, although
zoom might also be useful but needs to be better implemented. Second
window feature is great but doesn't work very smoothly, isn't very usable
on Light Biz OS yet.

Italian review of Rockchip's Light Biz OS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUiVC8prIdA

My comments:

1) Light Biz OS may be better optimized for pens , (therefore tablets)

2) Chinese character input with a keyboard might be better??
I don't know Chinese so I can't judge.

3) Sales of larger sized tablets are slow so Light Biz OS will have
some problems to get attention.

4) Remix OS has the right strategy of undercutting competitor's price.

Mine arrived this morning :D

No problem with getting it going.

There is no media player installed, so what do you recommend, from the Play Store?

I may have run into a bug. I started off with wired USB keyboard and mouse, to get setup.

Then paired with my bluetooth mouse ok.

Then tried a couple of bluetooth keyboards, it wouldn't recognise their existence. Actually, I have four bluetooth keyboards, will try all of them.
But there does seem to be a problem.

Android x86 is 12th ranked on distrowatch.

Ohh and I have both MX player and VLC on my Android.
I like MX more.

Off topic, @BarryK -- I think I found an obscure-ish unreported bug in SNS. Where would be the best place to report that? I don't see a thread for it on the forum anywhere.

To play downloaded flash videos without installing Flash itself
I found the following player works on recent Android tablets.

BSP v1.5.136 [4.0+].apk ---link broken

However I found that mp4 videos were out of sync with audio.

Here's another link that worked
