If you load the browser as sfs-addon you can save on the save space.rufwoof wrote:I do keep a copy of the latest chrome in the save space, only that and config changes. I like having a clean freshly installed version of the browser after each reboot which booting, using, not saving ensures. For bookmarks I store them in a text file that F1 show/hide toggles (tilda terminal, where url's are clickable).
Clean OS and latest browser, with booted usb disconnected after bootup. Nice! As/when later versions of chrome are released I just boot, update chrome, save.
How does Puppy do 'white out' files? (Solved)
Excepting minor tweaks, my save is pretty much just the freshly installed browser, and its easier to update that way (boot, run fatdog's get chrome, save ... is about the only time I run a save action). For fatdog usb multisession, saves are stored as sfs's anyway. And with 4GB ram/16GB encrypted swap on this laptop, saving space isn't really a issue (mostly not using all of ram anyway, so saving even more of ram space to not be used is just under-utilisation of resources).
