64-bit: See this thread, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=114238, in particular Mike Walsh's posts, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 14#1053914 and http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 79#1054079

32-bit: Apparently not. According to darry19662018 you may want to try one of the "DebianDogs", http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 25#1055725 which you'll find in this Section: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/index.php?f=34

fernan wrote:Hello. I was not so lucky to just download, install and use Zoom...

Installed the Ubuntu deb package from zoom download site, in tahrpup 32 bit and in bionicpup 64 bit, in both versions I get an error related to
pactl: command not found
and
Can't load/root/.config/zoomus.conf
Also, I have the /opt folder in another partition, linked to /opt. The installer deleted the link and created a new /opt folder, so I had to link again to the rest of the applications in that folder.

Is there a simple way to run Zoom in tahrpup 32 bit or bionicpup 64 ?

What did you do to have it running? I could download and install any frugal puppy, any version able to run Zoom, just for this purpose in this days.

Thanks very much.
hi fernan,

in bionicpup64 open quickpet and click on bionicpup updates. zoom should then be available in quickpet
Bionicpup64 built with bionic beaver packages http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=114311
Xenialpup64, built with xenial xerus packages http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=107331

@ fernan:-

Actually, you're better off downloading the generic tarball, unpacking it, and manually placing everything in the correct locations. Don't ask me why, but that works; something in the way the .deb package works is specifically set for the multi-user model employed by Debian & Ubuntu.....and Puppy doesn't like it!

That, and the abortion known as PulseAudio, of course.....which I suspect, if the community had known then what they know now, would have been stomped on, hard, before it even got off the ground.

Lennart Poettering should be strung up by the balls for all the aggravation he's caused Linux users over the years.

Hello. I did notice "Zoom" was added to quickpet in Bionicpup 64, so I uninstalled the previous app and installed from quickpet. With some signs telling me that "high cpu usage is affecting the conference", but I was able to do 1 test for some minutes.

I'll try a fresh frugal install only to use Zoom and check the cpu usage.
