ClipGrab is a multi-platform software package for downloading videos from popular websites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion or Metacafe. It also provides the possibility to convert the downloaded files to other file formats such as MP3, MPEG4, OGG Theora or WMV. It is published as free software under the terms of version 3 of the GNU General Public License

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected :shock:

I don't see what this does that a browser app can't do.
Even my ancient FF27 has a YT downloader. There are websites (OK, there may be a google back door) that will do the same.

To make this work, one must install libqtwebkit4 from the Puppy Package Manager. Then it starts and runs properly.

Only useful if one can choose the quality of the video to be downloaded (youtube for example has many files in different resolution qualities for direct download). Does it give these quality options?

Yes, it does. You may also choose the format, ie: Original, mp4, OGG, or audio only in chosen format.

Upup bionic beaver 18.05 needed two additional dependencies
libqtwebkit4_2.3.2
libqt4-opengl_4.8.7+dfsg
