Simple enhancement request: drive tooltips to show labels

#1 Post by 3guesses »

This is a very simple enhancement request which is that the tooltips displayed when hovering over the drive icons on the desktop should show the label for the partition in addition to the details of the filesystem for that partition.

IT will show the labels in the info under the icon if you go to menu->System->Puppy Event Manager->Rox Icons
Check show labels for each partition.
Note:
Select Refresh/Realign existing icons, so the change is made.

Well, to have a label to show, there needs to be one.
Pmount will let you give a label to any partition.
Select a partition and use the drop down menu and select edit label. Try not to make the label too long a name.
A single one word label is best.
If more than a single word, it shows as this:
Example:
Puppy installs will look like this Puppy......

If the label is not showing that well.
The icons could be too far down on the desktop.
In Rox icons window.
Change the edge gap setting to a higher number.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

Thanks, but I don't want the labels displayed on the desktop (I have FAR too many partitions) just when I hover over the partition. If the tooltips could also display the free/used space too (presumably only possible if the partition is mounted?) that would also be tres util!
