#1 Post by boof »

1.
cannot install full install as only OS on hard drive with uefi boot

2.
cannot put save file on hard drive when booting from usb. makes saves too long on slow hardware.

pls recommend a 32bit uefi puppy which willuefi full install and boot from hard drive. OR recommend a 32bit uefi puppy which will solve #2.

Why do you want to do a full install on the hard drive?
Puppy runs best as a frugal install on any drive.
Some features only work in a frugal install.

What is the computer?
Make and model?
cannot install full install as only OS on hard drive with uefi boot
The problem is the boot loaders offered in Xenialpup.
They are not setup to boot UEFI.

If you disabled secure boot in the UEFI bios or enable legacy boot they may or may not now work.

I assume Xenialpup is all you want on the hard drive.
This will delete everything on drive.

First get the hard drive partitioned correctly.
Boot with the Xenialpup USB.
Use Gparted program.
Select the hard drive as device to work on.
Make a new partition table msdos
Make small first partition 300MB, formatted fat32, flagged boot.
Make the rest of the hard drive into one partition formatted ext3 or several ext partitions. Your choice.

Now do a frugal install of Xenialpup to one of the ext formatted partitions.
Install the boot loader on the fat32 formatted partition.

After setting up the partitions on the hard drive.
You could use this program to do the install.
FrugalPup installer

Make sure to use the Frugalpup_20.sfs (the latest version).
It has several options for the boot loader it can install.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)
