Xenial downloads not showing up in downloads(Solved)

#1 Post by number77 »

Hello
I am having a strange problem in xenial64 on a dell e6230. If I download a file in Pale Moon and open the containing folder from the download arrow on the right, the file appears. However if I open /mnt/home/xenialpup647.5frugal/xenialpup64save/root/Downloads the download does not appear and I have to access if from browser download containing folder.
Any ideas what is happening as this is new to me.
Help appreciated.
thanks

Probably because you are looking directly in the save and what you downloaded, is still in the save ram disk, that has not been written to the save, yet.

Are you running in pupmode 13?
Where there is a save icon on the desktop?

What does it show, if you open the active file system in Rox, by clicking on the desktop file icon.
Navigate to /root/downloads?
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

Not sure what pupmode 13 is.
The save icon is on the right hand side of the desktop.
Yes the file is in root/Downloads

Bigpup you are right. I downloaded a file, pressed the save button then looked in Downloads and the file was there.
I have never used the save button before so how I have managed I don't know.
Thanks for your help once again.
