Just a thought regarding programming in Gambas 2

I've been fiddling around with Gambas2 lately and it strikes me that if the runtime were included in Puppy, any apps developed in it (as small as Genie/Vala) would be a boon. The runtime package is roughly 150k so it would not overburden Puppy.
Just a thought...I'm sure all the refugee VB programmers would be thrilled.

Guy
back in the days when we had no pets, pups or SFS
Barry very kindly compiled Gambas for me to look at.
I was able to come up with nothing. (fish have better
programming skills than me)
MU brought his own language WXbasic - which eventually evolved into
PuppyBasic and wrote many programs which ended up in Muppy.
Freebasic was for a long while part of the devx - it is qbasic compatible
Did we have loads of programs to show for the inclusion? (not one that I am aware of)
I have no doubt that programs will be written in Genie and Vala because MU and
Barry are interested and already doing so.
I may well look at Gambas again - if I write anything - the run time can be added.
If several people start writing in Gambas it begins to develop momentum . . .

Nice, as GUI with QT or GTK+ will be possible. And it can run in ARM.
Why not?

It is nice.
With a 150k runtime included, we may in effect just be adding 150k - is that a risk worth taking?
Yes.
It has been done several times with other languages such as MurgaLua.
