And thanks for telling us about it.

Open Sankore has been created, in the beginning, for digital education in Africa. So lots of pictures are made for that (fruits...)

I managed to use the rich text option with ASRI300 (based on lucid puppy)

Each document is automatically saved.
You can open a document : document-import. You can import an .ubz file (open sankore file) or pdf
You can find all the files in the Document mode

It's a RC version
I will try to make an sfs file with the 2.3.1 version (the latest official version)
You can find more informations of this original project at (in english or french)

ah bien voilà Sankore pour la famille

NDLR : ah bien voilà pour la famille, je le charge, et voit si çà peut aller pour une enfant de trois ou quatre ans. Moi je suis bien trop vieux.

The Open-Sankoré software uses the native players present by default on the computer to interpre audio, video or flah medias. However, all formats cannot be played in this software if the computer does not have the necessary codecs installed.

Codecs are small programs that enable to decode the various available audio and video file formats.

The players used by Open-Sankoré are :

Windows Media Player for Windows,
QuickTime Player for Mac,
Phonon (an abstraction of gstreamer ou xine) for Linux.

You should prefer to use the following formats, that should be decoded easily by all systems :

images with the formats .png, .svg, .jpg or .gif
videos with the formats .mp4 or .flv
audios in the .mp3 format

There are a few codec packs that enable you to extend the range of multimedia formats supported by the reader used by Open-Sankoré.

Be however careful when you install them, particularly with free packs that are supposed to contain codecs of several companies. Some of these packs can create problems or instabilities on your operating system.

Please refer to the documentation of your operating system and to the online support forum.

Ah ça part pas tout seul (l'icône est apparue, une fois le SFS chargé on the fly).
Hello Pelo,
Version of Puppy used?

Helle ASRI, i drive Racy 5.3

This application seems so nice, and well documented (vidéos are french spoken !). And very powerfull ; objects can be sounds, picture vidéos, documents..
As a user, i am interested in Sankoré, not only for Kids.. Can do great things,
Written strokes created with the stylus or the markers are considered as objects just as images, texts,
Therefore, they benefit from the same properties as the other objects which means that you can now move them, modify their size, rotate, apply a symmetry, group them and add an action.

Development for Puppy :
Hello ASRI, i drive Racy 5.3.
Wait a little bit, i try to find what links would be missing.
I just come back from outside.
Parcel opened, hum, there are QT libs (4.8.0) inside. and french tutos. I look tutos first, avant de demander plus, je reviens.
ASRI pls precise me what to type in terminal, it would help. because unknown ( so i don't get errors info which should help). Up to you Now..

Open Sankore 2.4 successfull with Tahrpup 5.8.3

One can add hypermedia links to objects that contains fixed images or text.
A menu enables to add :
a link to a web page (requires an internet connection),
a link to another page of the presentation,
a link that enables to play a sound on a click on the object.
To add an action, select the option in the object frame menu. Click on « OK » to validate your action.
To remove the action, simply use the same menu again.

Development in Puppy Linux :
Open Sankore 2.4 successfull with Tahrpup 5.8.3 (Qt already included)
I inform kids ( i just install Sankore, no test done deeper to check if bugs when running sankore).
I miss time. It's late. Children will back up their remarks.
About Racy 5.3: In my opinion, libfakeroot is missing... something is strange, however. tahrpup does not include libfakeroot.
