How to switch virtual desktop via keyboard control? (Solved)

#1 Post by hanzf »

Hello,

Is there a way to switch the virtual desktop with the keyboard?
I recently worked with a Ubuntu 12.04 system and switching the desktops via CTRL-ALT-ArrowKey was one of the few things I liked in the Unity desktop environment.
I found keyboard shortcut settings in the JWM configuration manager, however I know how to specify the keys "CA Right" and "CA Left" but not the action "switch to the next/previous desktop".

thank you

Hans

I use CTRL-ALT-right arrow key and CTRL-ALT-left arrow key, just like Ubuntu Unity does.
In the JWM settings (im Puppy Precise 5.7.1: Menu -> Desktop -> JWM Window Manager Settings -> Keyboard shortcuts), the following two keyboard shortcuts must be added::

mask = "AC", key = "Left", action = "ldesktop"
mask = "AC", key = "Right", action = "rdesktop"

This link needs an update. It's a 404-error one :)
