I tested both the PAE and the noPAE nvidia 173.14.39 .pets in the corresponding TahrPups in my GeForce FX5200 machine (which is the only nvidia card I have) and I can report that they both worked. I just click to install as usual, the prompt to reboot comes up which I do and then it is all running fine on the nvidia driver with glxgears showing FPS of around 1400 and Google Earth looks fine on it. I can switch resolutions using xorgwizard. Hopefully other testers will report in as well though.

Speaking of Google Earth I have always found that the photos do not display on any of the 7.1 versions (this is not to do with nvidia cards I don't think) so I tend to stick with the 7.0 version (or the 6.x versions on older hardware).

Frugal
Save directory

noPAE nvidia 173.14.39 .pet installed.
Working OK for me.

Thank you for the pet. :!: :!:
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Hi,

666philp

My report is about jwm task-bar. usually xwininfo will give output window name as "JWM" but in tahr 6.0 the window has no name.

I am trying to make jwmthememaker compatible with tahrpup. I already make the grab preview function works (check ffmpeg or avconv, in tahr avconv is installed), but I can't get the xwininfo on taskbar because it has no name

Thanks,

and thanks to the the pet provider too :)

this is a nice pup series. Tahr and Unicorn are working very well on
both Dell D610 Pentium M 1.6Ghz 2G ram & Dell D630 2.1Ghz dual
core 2G ram using PAE version on both .Pretty snappy even without the proprietary driver. Non PAE also runs well on D610 with PAE disabled
in BIOS.

QU 6(2.1) was the first pup I got Netflix to run on puppy innately
(with a little help from a friendly forum member :) using (yuck) Chrome
I hope to repeat my success in this pup, and use a different browser
for all else. (Less complex than Wine for newbs too) Not sure if shinobar's
groovy portable chrome will work, but if not will install .deb & depends.
as I did in QU.

all in all, pretty sweet work, thanks so much :)

I was able to get Netflix going by installing libnss3_3.17.1 and libnss3-tools_3.17.1 from pkgs.org, as I couldn't seem to update PPM, I did the
usual so not sure why? I have the dev loaded if that matters? I just
haven't seen these errors before:

hi trio,

i just check on quirky unicorn which also has the new JWM and get the same results.
could i suggest posting a new issue at https://github.com/joewing/jwm/ as you can explain better the issue and what you're wanting to do.

thanks

i've noticed this on my desktop .... and solved it by swapping usb ports for the keyboard .... it's odd that it's only with save to folder! maybe giro or shinobar will know what the problem is

and thanks for the drivers, i'll be adding them all to quickpet in a few days

Hi 666philp,

That's okay, I did a workaround

JWM Theme Maker:
Version 1.7.2: Fully compatible with precise 5.7.1, slacko 5.7, tahr 6.0 (as long as jwm taskbartray swallows xload). Might work with quirky 6.0. It will fail to grab taskbar pic if in autohide mode and/or if the taskbar is not on top or buttom

thanks

graphic drivers now in quickpet

wyzguy PM'd me about a bug that when coming out of suspend, some usb devices aren't recognised, such as keyboard & mouse. the attached script should fix that. you can test by either by pressing the power button and choosing suspend, or clicking on /etc/acpi/actions/suspend.sh.

it can be pushed through bugfixes after testing

WOW! EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT! What a fantastic job with this new distro! Hats off to everyone that worked on it. This, at least for me is THE defacto go to pup. Everything I need (except for one app0, I installed and the apps work great.

The one app I can't use is the current version of Avidemux that is in the repos. i need 2.6.8. i was able to compile this version in Ubuntu and Debian based distros, but am not sure how to go about it in Puppy.. If I were to tate this distro, it would be 12/10. The developers went over and above as far as I am concerned. I'm now going to try this version on my iMac as well as my old Dell 3000.

Thanks again!!!!
