aahhaa unfortunately puppy doesn't run on my lap.. hangs just when starting X.. that's why i was looking for a framebuffer version that might help it to start. my video card is a vesa compatible with 2.5meg ram and can go up to 800x600 ONLY. its really a pity i can't run puppy on it, since i have 19...

how to fix the video res..
I booted puppy on my desktop, the only problem i found is this: the screen is a bit smaller than normal probably because puppy doesn't go 100hz refresh.. is there any way to do that? Thanks also, is there any hope for my laptop? hangs during bootup when is time to start x server..IT CAN ONLY RUN 800...

i wanted to add: ubuntu runs fine, as well as kanotix (which shows some graphical probs since tried to use accelerated drivers) in VESA mode. i had also the same problem with slax, but at least they booted.. win xp with minimal services running also runs slow but ok.. I WANT PUPPY!!! i can't believe...

Puppy doesn't run on my Toshiba satellite lap.
I tried to run puppy linux on my laptop, which has ubuntu installed, i had no luck.. the program creates the pup file and copies into the ram (i have 192 meg) then asks me for keyb and mouse, i don't have a mouse i use the trackball from the laptop, if i choose nothing or if i choose ps/2 the result...
