Question on Microcom Terminal
I have been using Microcom serial terminal, which is part of BusyBox, to work with Arduino microprocessor boards. It works generally well. I have been experimenting with a USB module in command mode. The module in command mode responds to AT commands (like an old USB modem). However, the AT command ...

I guess for my system, this is alpha software. I have found after about 6 to 8 bootups, I start getting failures to completely boot into the desktop. This is the second installation that this has occurred. Here is my hardware description: -Computer- Processor : 2x AMD C-60 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Gra...

Peebee, I do not think using Fatdog64 version 700beta, java squashed file system is a good idea. I know Fatdog64 uses the Linux From Scratch process to build the software and Slacko64 uses the Woof build process. I did do some more research. Oracle has changed the software license and this prohibits...

I know I am new to this version and a bit late. But, I decided to try Slacko64 out. I have installed the devx.sfs. I could not find java. The gcc compiler can have a java plugin. Is java (JRE) available for slacko64? If the answer is buried, then please point me to it. Thank you in advance for any h...

L18L, I glad you have looked at mmex. Thank you for the information. I, unfortunately am only monolingual. I am not able to comment on the translations. Hopefully, the translations are sufficient to help people to use it. It is funny how we get blinders on when doing things based on past experiences...

L18L, I just used a supplied binary package. I do know at a minimum mmex supports Engish, French, Italian, Spanish, and Polish. The help page has those available. I do not know for sure how many languages the package actually has. Once the initial setup is done, there is no easy way to change the la...

I added a new package to the contributor’s section of the repository. It is mmex, Money Manager EX version 0.9.9.0. Money Manager EX is financial accounting program. It is a lot like Quicken, which I have used for years. If one updates the contributor’s repository in Gslapt, the new package will be ...

neerajkolte, It looks like a localization error. I do not have the source code for fling. So, there is not much I can do. Try, a different location for english, UK, USA, or Australia. See if an error occurs. Angry IP is java based, so it is a bit easier to get running under different operating syste...

From SFR: /root/my-applications/bin/ is not in PATH, unlike in regular Pups. Is it supposed to be like this in FD? Yes, this change occurred in the beta 1 version of fatdog64 700. There is a discussion on the change in the beta 1 thread, pages 3 and 4 here: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic...

In researching the Arduino Yun, I found an interesting shield called the Dragino Yun Shield. It was a shield when added to an Arduino board would add the Yun capabilities. With a price of 30 US dollars, I decide to take the risk and order one. As usual, I quickly found out after receiving it, there ...

Arduino and Puppy Linux
I have been experimenting with the Arduino microprocessor boards and Puppy Linux. I am placing this post in the rogramming area because it has a lot of information on the Arduino boards rather than just Puppy Linux. I have used three different Arduino boards, the Uno, Leonardo and Yun. The Arduino I...

Thanks, Semme for the web page. Yes, I am in the same boat as you with Arduino, I will have to look at it more detail to make sure I understand it. The Yun has a built in Linux(OpenWrt), so it has a few more capabilities. I am trying to use the Yun Linux as much as possible. I am almost tempted use ...

Need to transfer a file to a usb device (/dev/ttyACM0)
I have been experimenting with the Ardunio Yun board. Unfortunely, the Arduino IDE 1.5.8, which supports the Yun, does not work properly with Fatdog64. It complies the program to be uploaded, but, then fails to connect/transfer the complied file. I have worked out a way to do to transfer the complie...

Thank you, technosaurus for the help and information. The Arduino 1.5.8 does not work with fatdog64. I trying to use Arduino IDE 1.5.8 java based distribution. It is supposed to be fairly independent of distribution. I am not building the IDE from the source. I have tried this in the past and found ...

Please read the first sentence The ardunio IDE 1.5.8 fails to upload the complied file to the arduino board with an error of missing libncurses.so.5 file. The missing library libncurses.so.5 is not being uploaded to the board! There is no Architectural mismatch. It is being used by the Arduino Integ...

The ardunio IDE 1.5.8 fails to upload the complied file to the arduino board with an error of missing libncurses.so.5 file. After much looking, I determine libncurses.so.5 is missing from fatdog64. There are these libncurses files in /usr/lib64 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18 Oct 17 17:50 libncurses.so -r...
