Anyway the above link will give you ...

Just we are clear there are two 'save' buttons ...

NUMBER 1 = save the loading of the network module (ie ipw2200) - button is 'SAVE'
NUMBER 2 = save the network config settings - button is 'OK'

kkpity .. you are doing the exact same thing as I had been doing for a year !! There is a secret 'SAVE' button that pops up after you load ipw2200. Make sure you find that one first !! No point saving wireless settings for your next boot unless you have the driver installed. Did you read my previous ...

BTW GuestToo .. thanks. I tried testing with the xset command but I think the problem is more serious. I read the webpage and tried a large range of variations. Some kind of helped but it still far from usable. I think we need the evdev driver.

Wow .. did some more testing and there you go .. it worked! I think I always would load the ipw2200 driver and never click the save button. Then of course the iwconfig settings would never stick on reboot because the ipw2200 was not loading on boot, hence nothing to save the iwconfig settings to! So ...

rarsa, I'll try some more testing tonight. Hope my previous short blunt message didn't come across the wrong way. I was just adding that I also experienced the problem with my 915 centrino notebook. My main puppy bug is the USB hotplugging. Apart from that I am a happy puppy user. The network thing ...
