Passing Option to Kernel Module ?

To tweak the sound set-up my new LG notebook, I found some info to add an option to the snd_hda_intel module. ie - adding 'model=lg'

The how-to must have been debian/ubuntu related because it said to use modconf.

Is there a way to add this option in puppy without using modconf?

I tried recreating a new pup_save file but this didn't help. Frugal HD boot with pup_save file usb 5-3: new high speed USB device ...

Frugal Install - Stopping auto save of session on shutdown ?

I am using a frugal HD install with a pup_save file. If I make some changes during a session which I do not want saved to my pup_save file, then how do I shut-down without saving the session changes? Puppy provides the option on first boot (ie save to file, save to hdaX, do not save) but after that ...

Load the module manually .. i think you need snd_hda_intel

#modprobe snd_hda_intel

Then run alsaconf and alsamixer and alsactl store .. etc. Then it should be ok after reboots.

Works ok with manually forcing load of module ...

#modprobe snd_hda_intel

Then ran alsaconf.

Although the master volume on the Zmixer seems to be broken. I had to restart then the toobar master volume control appeared which worked :)

Audio Device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW ICH6 Family Rev 04.

The module might be snd_hda_intel.

Notebook Resolution Problems - 1280 x 800

I cannot get 2.13 to run at the correct resolution for my notebook - 1280 x 800. It always seems to default to 1024 x 768. When I check xorg.conf, it specifies 1280 x 800. I have tried manually editing xorg.conf. I have tried xorgconfig. Restarting X of course each time. Puppy often seems to remove ...

Has anyone tested the puppy universal installer? I have tried with 2.12 and 2.13 and it seems broken. Sometimes it ejects the puppy CD, sometimes just before creating the USB bootable disc, the application just closes.

Bittorrent Downloading with Puppy
