Prob a moot point now. Got a new"er" laptop and after installing puppy didn't have those issues so I'm fine.
Thanks

USB HDD not showing up

I forgot my thumb drive at work so couldn't test that. My wifi is through a USB device though and that works fine. I have several ver...

Handbrake 9.8
After some searching I found a pet for 9.5 but I'd like the latest. I searched and searched for a 9.8 pet or sfs but nothing. nor in the PPM. Can someone tell me if there is a 9.8 for puppy? I'm just getting my feet wet in linux but my other pc has zorinos and so I can use apt-get and add ppa's but ...

L18L, Yeah, I think I used that once long ago but didn't get it. I just played with it a bit, might get some getting used to but I can see it's usefulness. Still think I prefer numbers. I wish linux had a file manager that showed the size of directories and not just file. That would be a big help. W...

Well, 90K files - mp3, wmv, wma, flaac, txt, doc, html, nzb, rtf, jgp, gif, tif, bmp, epub, zip, rar, dll, msi, ini, x3f, tar, par2, inf, mp4, mkv, acm, reg, That's about all I can think of off the top of my head but not all by any means. As my Edit shows I just needed to reboot although I had resta...

Reading HUGE directory on 3TB USB 2.0 drive [solved]
Hi, I have a 3TB external USB drive (it's 3.0 capable but the PC only has 2.0 USB). It's about 2/3 full. I have one particular directory that gives Puppy 5.28 fits. It's about 900+ GB and there's over 90,000 files/directories on it. When I open this directory it shows blank. I don't know if it's bei...

Thanks everyone I'll use all those suggestions. Lots of good advise. I've been trying to swap over to puppy but I've hit that age where tech is getting to be more trouble than I want to deal with. 5 years ago I'd have spent an entire weekend online researching and reading 50 page threads. That's one...

Where is all my space going?
Started with 1 gig. Down to just over 300MB. Installed Chromium. Installed Thunderbird mail (plus copied my 170MB profile). Installed Wine. I also updated the databases in PPM. It might have been after that that I noticed a LOT of space when bye bye. No problem resizing it but I'm more interested in...

No idea how to make my own exe
OK, I admit the directions were a bit to essoteric for me. Prob if I had half an idea what I was doing they would but clueless so I did my own cludge to load the puppy verision I wanted. I add puppies to my linux machine simply by making a directory, copying the proper files into it and adding an en...

Hello ! Peebee contacted me ( Thanks Peebee ), I'm sorry for this late reply, and this incidence. This error is not a technical error from e-nautia, but a human fault, mine. In fact, I deleted directories, and inadvertently, those containing packages. :( I'll upload them soon, thank you for your pa...
