I was running NOP for a few weeks, and now my usb mouse stoped working. Sometimes after a re-boot it will work again, but only until I start moving it. Any ideas what is causing this?

Cisco VPN

Stumbled upon this thread while trying to set up my Cisco VPN connection. I followed the instructions here http://www.longren.org/2007/05/17/how-to-cisco-vpn-client-on-ubuntu-704-feisty-fawn/ , but found that I needed to patch the vpn file. When I tried to use the "patch" command I get an ...

SD Card?

OK, I'm running Puppy 410 from my usb drive. I have everything working from the drive except for Puppy allowing me to boot with the SD card installed. I did not install the ISO that Craig made, but rather tweaked everything individually from tips in the forum. Does anyone know what the setting is th...

aspiire one puppy

You don't need to do an F2. Just do an F12 after power button instead. From here you can choose the USB drive, If the USB drive boots on other machines with Puppy loaded on it then it will boot on the AAO. Be sure to remove the SD cards if they are installed. You can reinsert them after your booted ...

Thank you to everyone for their help and suggestions. I found the problem in another thread. It seems that my Aspire One laptop has a problem booting when there is an SD card loaded. If I remove the SD card I can get the laptop to boot my USB stick. I will have to dig a bit deeper to see if there wa...

I just tried the live CD and I ran into the same problem. I guess that might mean that there isn't a keyboard driver in this puppy? I'm trying to boot up on an Acer Aspire One which is pretty new. Maybe this is the problem?

well, that seemed to work faster, and allows me to not have to have the /puppyh directory on my laptop, but it still hangs during the puppy boot from the usb drive when it gets to probing the media (keyboard, mouse).

I'm thinking that it may be something in the puppy start up file?

No, that didn't work. I renamed my pup_save file, and also pushed the software into ram during boot. I still hang at the point where it tries to set up the keyboard and mouse. It's just after the networking set up. I never even get to the point where I can choose the graphics. I do appreciate your h...

Ok, I made the directory, put the files in, and puppy started to boot. When it gets to loading up the keyboard and mouse it hangs. I don't have this problem when I plug the USB drive in other machines.

Any other ideas?

Using USB to connect two PCs

Well, this is just a guess, but it may very well solve your problem. I would try to install WINE on each machine. This would allow you to load the Windows software that came with your cable (cross fingers). If it does than you can just transfer files as you would using Windoze by launching the cable...

HowTo Remove Files from the *.SFS file

I have been having a good time customizing my Puppy, but I'm running out of space on my USB drive. There are a lot of applications that I have in the original PUP_410.SFS file that I don't really need. Is there a way to remove the files from this file?

Appreciate your help.
