muggings, thank you for the 0.94 package. After installation the original files remained in the /usr/local/bin folder, the new files were copied to /usr/bin folder. The original menu entry of transmission is in the Internet section and a new entry appears in Network menu section. I suppose, this way...

... The way around that is to remove things from the pup_xxx.sfs file itself. There are several ways to accomplish it. The most direct is to use the Edit-SFS script I made. It would create a writable, decompressed copy of the file and let you edit it. Then it will compress it and give you a new pup...

The same here with matrox millenium II video card. I spent several hours to solve it. After trying lot of modifications, at the end (checking the modification in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules file) I tried boot up with 'nopcmcia' boot parameter and YES, puppy 2.14 boots up flawlessly. I have no any idea what...

I confirm your experience. I also have an old machine with Matrox Millenium II card. 2.12 version was the last puppy which supported this card, I guess. When I boot 2.13, during the boot process, when it arrive at before the point we should choose keybord layout, the screen mixed into colour pixels ...

I also suggest swapfile than swap partition. If you want to create a 128M one please follow this: In terminal type: #dd if=dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1024 count=131077 This will create a swapfile to your / directory. #mkswap /swapfile Then put this line to rc.local: swapon /swapfile After next boot yo...

Hellfire, In your post you mentioned that you cannot tune the screen position and asked instruction for moving the clock on the tray, which is more crying for help then a bug report. (See the title of your post.) The other hand if it had been a really software bug, I suppose other experienced users ...

It is not the best place for your issue... it's not a bug... You should better tune the monitor settings in the xorg.conf file. E.g. horizontal and vertical refresh rate, depth or something. Try to modify the resolution. Have you tried xvidtune? That is not a solution give up a stripe on the right s...

Gn2: I found the 'vga=ask' trick very useful. I'll complete my grub menu with 'vga=0F05'. I found that gives slightly better look to boot screen. Pizzasgood: So the framebuffer mode is not basic part of puppy 2.x though it can be loaded yet. I guess the vga=785 example is a mistake on boot screen. I...

Do vesa fb kernel params work for you?
Hi, Is it only me who has difficulties with the Vesa framebuffer kernel parameters? I applies vga=791 boot parameter but it doesn't work for me with the Puppy 2.x series at all, though I see vga=785 as one of the parameter examples on boot screen... (vga=785 doesn't work either: I receive blank scre...

I installed Puppy to HD. I do not complain about its performance. (I really like its speed at boot up.) Though I read a lot about the advantage of live cd or frugal install, still I have some questions. I changed gxine to xine-ui, my file manager is MC from repository, changed mozilla to firefox2.0,...

Yes, that's the way I learnt how to modify the date format few months ago.
My link leads to a linux man page of strftime(3) which probably gives the same content like the BSD or Mac OS one:

JWM has changed since I wrote this little tweak. Its 1.8rc4 version is in Puppy 2.12b now, and because of the changes in JWM, if you want to use this trick in Puppy, from now you should do some more modification in your jwm configuration files. Edited 06/12/13 So first you have to modify this line i...
