I was able to get it to compile 3.18.7 tonight without any errors. What error did you get? That'll help someone diagnose the problem.

After having fun arguing with Nvidia I finally got some headway. Was able to get the latest Legacy Branch installed and my screens configured properly. I can happily report that everything seems to be running smoothly at this point. :) http://i.imgur.com/wTq82MLl.jpg 56k beware. It's 5760x2160. Sorr...

Hello @Q5sys @StemSee has created this PUP utility which is an expansion of some work that 01Micko started awhile back. In the last few months, many of the PUP devs have found favor in his utility's ease-of-use. Yea i've used Micko's kernel kit from git before. I was just curious why the stock kern...

also veracrypt cant open existing truecrypt containers. Actually it can, since version 1.0f . TC containers can be also converted to VC format. From other new features - one can create not only FAT/Ext?, but also NTFS formatted containers under Linux. https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=R...

Veracrypt has been named as the next version of truecrypt. By whom has this spin-off been named TrueCrypt's successor ?, the authors of TrueCrypt ?. The Ver acrypt wikipedia page , ironically , has no ver ification. ... trucrypt had been broken ... not according to the auditors ... https://isecpart...

Re: Server Package?

I am part of group that shares files and we are trying to pursue ways to access each others files without the need to have it emailed. Dropbox and teamviewer we do not wish to use. We are looking for a package that will turn the computer into a short term online file server where selected files can...

what you want to accomplish can be done with dm-Crypt/LUKS veracrypt isnt the only truecrypt spin off, theres another based out of switzerland, called TCNext. personally i dont hold veracrypt in much high regard, but thats just me. also keep in mind that veracrypt cant open tc containers... so if yo...

i'll throw 25$ in your face if you bundle up a SFS of emulators including NES, SNES, N64, PS1, and GBA. :P

for some reason i can never build emulators and get them to work without crashing.

Then, to prevent hacker attacks, updates the firewall's blacklist with the suspicious hosts. what metrics is it using to determine whats 'suspicious'? Im on the road right now so i can download and test this until tonight,...

Great job with FD700rc. Basically it works OOTB for me! (Thinkpad X230t) How is the touch support? I have a x230t myself, and find Fedora somewhat clunky with the touch interface. Have you loaded anything extra so you can have an onscreen keyboard? That is the one thing i do like about gnome under ...

As for firefox burning up the box, I haven't experienced that either. Obviously this kernel doesn't seem to like your machine. I compiled it using Stemsee's kernel kit (an early version), but I agree, there are some options which seem to have been neglected. His newer builds have improved. A 24 cor...

@Q5sys I have an old nVidia 250. Would that be an acceptable for a test? I have only used the OOTB setup from booting via DVDs. Nah, appreciate the offer I think I figured out the issue. It was reading the older L64-602.sfs off one of my hard drives instead of loading the SFS off disk I was booting...

Re: Fathouse64 & Mariner64-3.18.5

fall-back to zwine (autoloads). To run pure64 (no wine or 32 libs), simply add the boot kernel parameter, pfix=Pure64. I know its somewhat trivial, but its the unix in me screaming. Can you please make all the boot options lowercase, the mix of uppercase on some and mixed case on that one is kinda ...

You dont have to run your server as root. When I made Cloudpup ( http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=90788 ), I set it up so that nginx and sqlite would all run as spot.

It's not as secure as a true legit user account, but its better than full root.

When I compile for smaller packages --disable-nls That removes them. Less time packaging them also, when you have to compile over 100 apps, you don't want to make an extra package for all of them, or split the packages up by languages, and post like another 40 packages. You just want to keep moving...

@Q5sys - I'm surprised that Opera open-sourced their 12.x browser. I thought they would have kept it as a trade secret. Is this is a real Opera-based source, or is this is a re-implementation that tries to emulate what Opera 12.x has? No Opera has not released their source. :( It's a re-implementat...
