Me Too!

Mike, here - ("spamme0") - has calmly expressed most of the concerns I have with Puppy in general and the Linux development community in particular. My objective is to help Linux navigate to the point that it's usable by the masses. For this reason alone, I'm positively hopeful for linux t...

rcrsn51 asks a good question: why would I choose one install - frugal or full - over another? I don't know why. Either I should re-read documentation about both installs, or (hopefully) some kind person will address the question here. Somehow, I thought the full install was better, although I...

More info, you say?

Bruce B wants more info; here's more. How Do I Do A Full Install...

I've been running a frugal installation on a dual-boot laptop for a month now, and I think I'm ready for a full install (still dual-boot, of course.) I have a minimal installation of WinXP and a separate, 10GB EXT3 partition to acommodate this. Does anyone know how to do this transition, or can some...

so: is there an unwatched email?

vtpup: Your remark has raised a question. Perhaps I've been too Windoze-centric for too long, and should know better. Are there email servers that're less watchful or ad-ridden, or is that the tradeoff - one must pay for more privacy and fewer/no ads? BTW, I finally got SeaMonkey to work; here are t...

Well, ... I'm not sure. I mean, I've put the required info in the spaces provided by SeaM, and it has downloaded *some* mail I sent to this GMail account, and it responds with "no new messages" (but what if I want to collect ALL messages?) when it first connects, and it does this w/o error...

How to get OLD emails from GMail with Seamonkey

[edit] I thought I was sending emails to myself at a GMail account from SeaMonkey on Puppy_412, but now I'm not so sure.
SeaMonkey reports delivery success, but these emails never appear in my Inbox. Mail sent from other sources shows up there, but not ones I send to myself. What gives?

QUIT YER WHINING! <grin>

Thanks, Lobster, for the GMail invite. I was trying to be "faithful" to my Qwest/Live account by adding a subacount just for Linux communications, but it's obvious M$ stuff doesn't play nice with kids from other neighborhoods. :? So I've got a GMail account now, and I'll try SeaMonkey with...

How to do e-mail & print over network with Puppy 4.1.2?

I've been messing around with Puppy Linux 4.1.2 for about a month now, and it _has_ brought back some of the magic from the old CP/M and DOS days. However, now it's time to get some Real Work done. To do Real Work, I must be able to accomplish the following: - print to a printer (currently attached ...

What about frugal?

I really like my frugal puppy 4.1.2; how does one "upgrade" to this new puppy office? I've already DLed the iso. What's next - another frugal <groan>?
