After my trip, when I get back to brazil, I think Iam going to work on helping puppy be portuguese friendly (a puplet). Hopefully I will have the time. I have a lot to learn.

How much ram does puppy recognize?

I was looking at notebook computers online and one had an option for 4 gigs of Ram, but said that it was only available for people with 64bit windows, as 32 bit doesnt recognize more than 3 gigs of ram. Does Linux in general have this issue, does puppy? Would it even be possible to fill 4 gigs of Ra...

When I tried on puppy, I clicked on the executable file, and puppy said it didn´t know what do with it. I tried in windows and it opened to the title screen but froze and crashed shortly thereafter. Maybe they have some more bugs that need working out.... maybe I need a newer computer. looks fun, oh...

I will do that when I get home, I've got it saved on my flashdrive. My sis-in-law's computer is old and wouldn't handle this game under any circumstance.

Yo Frankie! opensource game

This is a new game that has builds for Windows and Linux. Looks like it needs some pretty good hardware, but it also looks like something you would pay good money for. http://www.yofrankie.org/ Anyone ever played this game... is it puppifiable? http://www.yofrankie.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/yf_...

Did you install it as a full install on the USB drive. Full installs don't need a save file.

thanks, that will be helpful for the mornings I want to click the computer on and go get a cup of coffee and come sit down to work.

With windows, I could practically make the coffee while I waited for it to boot.

Would it be possible for someone to make this into a pet that would work for an HD full install. I've got the sfs opening and working, but not really "installed" Seems like I can extract the sfs files even to folders on a pen drive and it works when mounted, if open the folders and click o...

For regular grub, I changed the order in the boot/grub/menu.lst, but I don't know how to make it autoselect anything after a countdown. What's the code/script for that?

I solved the issue on my sister-in-law's computer. Someone mentioned that Windows looks for the first bit of unformatted disk space, and I thought that maybe that was causing the problem. I opened g-parted and saw the 7 megs of unallocated disk space at the front of the meter. I slid the first parti...

I am not the OP, but the second poster with same problem. I did NOT do a defrag before the partitioning. Usually I do, but that time, it was a fresh windows install with 90% free disk space, so I skipped the step. OOOPS.

I experienced the exact same problem installing puppy 4.20 on my sister-in-law's machine. She got an old computer for R$200 and it was having trouble running at a reasonable speed on the installed XP, so I partitioned and installed puppy. She loves puppy and it even works well on dial-up for her. I ...

Scott, One can swap between ext2 and ext3 and ext3 and ext2 without formatting. I mention this in the event you want to convert a partition with files on it. Bruce Is that true? How can I do that? When I partitioned my hard drive for the first time, I went with ext2, without knowing the difference....

BROffice (Open Office in Brazilian Portuguese) for Puppy.

I thought this might deserve its own thread. BRoffice SFS available... PET still needed. First thanks dingo for compiling an sfs file of BROffice. "steve-in-brazil" I really want to install the open office suite on this 4.20 full install puppy, so that we can do the office things we need, ...
