jduffy22335 I have seen inode problems due to a removable drive being removed from a windoze rig without using 'safely remove hardware' Apparently it flags the drive in some way, which then gets picked up by ntfs-3G, which puppy uses, as an unclean mount There was a force option, to fix it, but I'm...

Re: Use the same save file on more than one computer at a time
I haven't tested this heavily - I'm just playing with it at the moment. Definitions server= the machine the save file is on, and that you want all the programs to run on client= the other machine(s). (I guess this is also a "server" in the sense that it is providing a display for the firs...

Frugal and floppy was painful, so went full install of your Slxr Pup and a PCMCIA wireless card, not to shabby for the old girl.

Tutorials
davywavy, I figured the reason for no feedback was a matter of respect . It probably does make nicer keeping my posts separate, but your input is vital. Have you read any tutorials? Have they been hard, easy, something you'd like help with? Would you or others consider it valuable if we picked one ...

Dpup 476b 2.26.27.4
I have installed the 2.6.27.4 b version via frugal. Iit is reporting: zd1211rw: probe of 8-5:1.0 failed with error -2 The newer kernel 2.6.29.4 did not have this, as well as, most of the other derivatives that I have tried. I used ndis wrapper to continue evaluating this otherwise good developement,...

Increasing Pup Save size
I am working on an older PII lappy, and initially set a small save file. After playing around some, I chose to increase Save file size and rebooted. It went through the normal fsck before increase but it did not increase. Network is still in limbo, so decided to do the same on a new desktop and rece...

This kind of in-fighting will result in 4.2.1 being the last Puppy. We're slowing tearing ourselves apart. Why can't we just let bygones be bygones and get back to the task at hand: making Puppy better. This kind of activity always seems to occur, when people believe they have vested interest in a ...

free size of puppy save
While testing on newer machine worked extremely well, but did notice that free memory (puppy save) showed 489M (NTFS volume), even though actual size was 1536M. This limitation did not show when it was actual free ram (no puppy save).
